I put in the battery, the charger lamp is green but the laptop simply won't start.
I have tried putting the battery in and out I even tried to charge it without the battery but it doesn't look like the computer is responding to the charger.
This is the laptop:

Is it broken?
RMA it.
RMA?
I'm going to deliver it back on monday but if it's just a simple issue that is quickly fixed I don't mind
is the power button broken
If it won't power on with the battery out and the cable plugged in, then there's a chance it's your cable.
I'd put money on it, actually... power cables are never good quality.
But shouldn't the laptop make an orange light or something when you hit the power button?
Mine doesn't

This is weird. I gently put the charger in and the start up button is lit up but it still wont start up
Sounds faulty, just bring it back and get a replacement.
This happens frequently for me. Usually I just shut it off, take out the battery and while it's plugged in I turn it back on, then I pop the battery back in.

You shouldn't have to do this on a new laptop.
Take it back and get a replacement. Asus has always had power issues on their laptops, that's the one real downfall to an otherwise great company. I myself use an Asus, their support is probably one of the best I've seen.
