• Can my computer run Far Cry 2?

This is probably stupid but, I'm just wondering whether my computer has the specs to run Far Cry 2. My computer has an Intel i5 3GHz processor with an Intel HD2000 graphics card with 4Gb RAM and lots of memory, Far Cry 2 requirements:
Minimum: Supported OS: Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Vista (64 is supported) Processor: Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz, Pentium D 2.66 Ghz, AMD Athlon 64 3500+ or better Memory: 1 GB Graphics: 256 MB, Shader Model 3 required, NVidia 6800 or ATI X1650 or better* Hard Drive: 3.5 GB (Multiple saves and user created maps will increase the amount of needed hard disk space.) *Supported Video cards: NVidia 6800, NVidia 7000 series, 8000 series, 9000 series, 200 series. 8800M and 8700M supported for laptops. ATI X1650 – 1950 series , HD2000 series , HD3000 series , HD4000 series Recommended: Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo Family, AMD 64 X2 5200+, AMD Phenom or better Memory: 2 GB RAM Graphics: 512 MB, NVidia 8600 GTS or better, ATI X1900 or better* Sound: 5.1 sound card recommended
Maybe this might be rated dumb, but considering there's threads regarding the condition of one's genitalia, meh...
I don't trust that video card, how much video memory you got?
1696MB of Graphics memory I am no good with computer
I don't know about that GPU, but I ran it on 2 Gb RAM, a shitty dual core, and an x1300 at 20 -30 FPS on all very low, at 800 x 600. I think you might be fine. Also, if this is because of that steam sale, I would go ahead and buy the pack of FC1 and 2. FC1 is pretty fucking awesome.

Yes, but if you want playable framerates don't expect anything more than low settings If you want to game on your computer invest in like a 6850 or something
Yeah, everything on my computer is all stock, I wanna start upgrading my graphics card etc sometime in the future.

Will you run it on max, probably not.
Far cry 2 also has a benchmark tool that you can use to see what settings are best for you. The HD 2000 should be the only thing you really have trouble with
Thanks for the help guys. I did get it and it runs fine on average settings, but I'll think about upgrading my graphics card soon too.
Yes, you can run it. Will you run it on max, probably not.
That's the ATI HD2000 series, not Intel.
Yes, you can run it. Will you run it on max, probably not.
No the HD 2000 series in the requirements, refers to the ATI HD 2000 series. A Intel 2000HD is far different (not as good as I might say). The requirements would usually specify if Intel GPU's can run the game or not (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't)
Intel HD2000 graphics card
nope
The Intel HD2000 is a terrible graphics processor. You will not be able to run the game at all, even on minimum settings. The specs refer to the ATI Radeon HD 2000 series, a much different card, that's like 7 years old or something by now. You need a real dedicated graphics card to run it.
Know what you're doing before you upgrade things. It's easy to make mistakes and fuck up your whole computer if you don't know what you're doing. A classmate of mine (I'm studying ICT) had to repair 6 computers in a day because idiots were ramming a PCI-E card in AGP slots (yes, there's a difference) while they were full of static electricity. Make sure your processor, motherboard and other components can handle the speed of something faster. Not everyone enjoys going the sped of sanic and that's the same deal for computers. If you have a fast GPU and a slow CPU, the CPU will bottleneck the GPU, making your GPU as useful as your current one (not at all). Watch your power usage, too. Chances are your current power supply unit has just enough power to run all components, plugging in a GPU that uses more power will wear out all of your components fast as shit.

Those should have about 500w or so PSU's, which will be plenty to run a GTX 560 or thereabouts. It will definitely have PCIe, and any i5 won't bottleneck any GPU with current game tech.
In future try searching youtube. It appears to run fine keep in mind it is being recorded with fraps which does have a noticable impact on performance. Especially if the video is being saved to the same drive that game/pagefile is running from.
Problem Solved
that site is complete bullshit it said i could run gta4 at max with a dual core and 8600 gt
OP by the looks of the video it runs pretty well on it. FC2 will run on anything. I ran it on a my geforoce 6200 once.
that site is complete bullshit it said i could run gta4 at max with a dual core and 8600 gt
It was a joke, but I forgot the punch-line :v:
