Uhmm, simply put my computer lags extremely bad with everything, especially games. The computer used to run good with games and such until I had it restored to factory defaults and such. I'm guessing there was a cd I was supposed to put in after to install the graphics drivers and all that so I'm not running 'stock' crap?
I know next to nothing about computer so excuse my stupidity in trying to explain or get help for something that could be simple. Maybe if there are some graphics drivers I could get besides the ones I have so my computer isn't so terrible? The computer used to run great with games and such, now it can hardly keep open a couple internet screens without freaking out. Any help on the situation would be appreciated, I just want the computer as good as it used to be or updated but I don't know exactly what to update.
Here is some information about my computer.

Your computer runs games like crap because it's a piece of shit with half a gb of RAM and a single core P4 CPU.
Your PC is old
thats why.
I mean everything is old
That's an OLD computer.
You can get a good new one for like, 600 bucks.
It's awful.
Expect a completely new upgrade.
I know it's old but it used to run steam games and such great before the whole reformatting stuff. I just can't afford a new computer at the moment and need to make the best of what I got. I just don't understand why it has gotten so worse so soon.

What Steam games? Half-Life 1? That's about all I'd expect it to be able to run.

All of them basically, games in general really. The main ones I used to be able to play that I now can't without getting a constant 1-4 fps are garrysmod, css, l4d, ect few other smaller games.

thats cause ur PC sucks pee pee
Run your games at 640x480? That's about the best I'd expect your computer to be able to do. I mean, for fuck's sake, my netbook has a better GPU.
Upgrade the RAM to a gig and buy a 512MB GPU. You'll see a massive performance increase. Dell RAM is usually pretty cheap and easy to find.
I'm sorry but my 1999 Dell XPSt700r can run games better than this. It has 768MB of ram and a dedicated Nvidia Geforce 256 (even though this was the first Geforce card, it can run games better than integrated graphics), and an Intel Pentium III @ 700Mhz.
>First upgrade your ram to at least a gig, maybe even two gigs.
>Buy a PCI or AGP card with at least 512MB of VRAM. You need to find out if your computer has PCI 1.0 or 2.0 slots and if it is AGP 2x or 4x.
>Update the CPU I think it should be a socket LGA 775. To a Intel Core 2 Duo, Extreme, or even Quad.
re-format and install xp sp3
