Big site redesign to look and act more like Facebook. Everyone hated it and moved to Reddit, which would explain why Reddit is so big now.
I haven't really gone on Digg since 2008 but I always loved watching Diggnation.

digg was my go-to site for news before reddit
it is such a shame the site's being sold for only 500 thousand dollars when it used to be worth so much more, but I guess the blame ultimately lies on Kevin Rose & co. for that
