I know many of you people will find my ignorance entertaining, but please tell me what "bump" means in the facepunch community. I of course know what it means AFK, but what does it mean here on Facepunch.
Sincerely

bump
Its just a phrase for knocking a thread back to the top of the forum where everyone can see it via posting. Usually just by posting the word 'bump'.
bring up more posts

uh
What?
...When you post in a thread, it goes up to the top of the forum page.
People just use the word "bump" as it's an acronym for "BRING UP MY POST".

It's not coding. Whenever anyone replies, the thread goes to the top of the forum. Sometimes a really good thread isn't replied to in a while, and goes down to where no one sees it anymore. So someone will come in, an reply. If they have nothing to actually say, they'll just say bump. Then it goes back to the top of the forum, and is likely to be locked/replied to again.

Well of course everyone wants their threads to be read but why does the forum let them?

...
Be..cause?
I don't exactly understand what you're asking.
People "bump" their threads when they feel that it hasn't been finished or could use more replies.
It really isn't used here often.

Read user's join date, ignore thread. Obvious trolling is retarded.

Because that's spam. Bump actually tells people what you're trying to do. Just saying nothing will likely get you banned.

You may not bump until your thread is on page 2.
Interesting. Also for those people who think i´m dumb... I shall come to your house and... no that´ll just get me banned but thanks everyone for replying. And i also joined just to know about new mods and so forth. i have´nt been so very active.
