• Can't Format RAW Flash Drive Due To Write-Protection?
    8 replies, posted
More like imaginary write-protection. I don't know how this happened so I'm just going to state my problem. My Flash drive somehow got formatted to RAW. XP nor W7 (The two OS that I've tried, both on different computers) wants to read the damn thing saying that it must be formatted before it can be used. I've tried to format it in disk management and numerous programs each with a.) Write-Protection b.) Can't detect drive even though windows has it right in it's fucking Explorer c.) No reason, quits THERE IS NO LOCK SWITCH ON THE DRIVE EITHER. So I'm pretty angry that BOTH computers can't fix this damn drive.
Cook it, then try. :3:

Pop in a Linux LiveCD and give it a shot.
Pop in a Linux LiveCD and give it a shot.
I heard that Linux might allow me access to it, but I have yet to try it. I'll download a distro overnight.
GParted it, add a FAT partition, then Windows can format it.
