For some reason, every now and then, svchost.exe decides to take up most of my CPU. Any solutions?
Ignore it, it's the Windows Service Host.
well how come i have about 13 in my processes list, taking up anywhere from 343kb to 80,000+?
Because it uses multiple processes to host all of those services, if you have Vista or 7 you can right click svchost.exe and click on "Go To Services" to see all the services it is hosting.
Try using Process Explorer to find out which service is causing it.
