Everyone entering the "adult world" has to get a job. No matter how much you don't want to and your parents threaten to kick you off their couch if you don't get off your ass. Here is the $1,000,000... What is your job, and do you like it?
Personally, my job is pretty fucking sweet. I'm a stage hand at a music venue in Pittsburgh, pretty much I'm a glorified roadie. Myself and about 10-30 other people (depending on who the act is coming though depends on how many people we need). All we do in the morning is load out a few semi's with the bands gear. IE lights, sound, and other equipment. We proceed to set up everything over the next few hours and we watch the act for their soundcheck. And int then becomes time for the actual show. I've run spotlight for acts recently like Clutch, Rob Zombie, Slayer, Montley Crüe, and Poison and that was recently. And we get free entrance into the shows as well it's really cool when bands are there you like. And of course after the show we have to load everything up and after that it's early in the morning and we leave. So Its about a 15-20 hour day but we get paid very generously. All my friends say my job kicks ass but it's hard to be modest when it is the truth. I do have a few pictures I can upload I'll do that soon.
So facepunch, is your job kick ass?
Edit:It got moved......Sorry for backseat moderating, I guess?
I used to work at subway one time I didn't do some guy's order right and he got mad...And making sandwiches is annoying so I quit.
I like my job as a housekeeper at a local hotel. Pay's good, not far to walk and work isn't paid per room and the place is deserted about 90% of the time. :v:
Wrong section, belongs in fast threads also this thread is going to get locked in about a minute....
fight the power Jets, back door mods like jenkins here would have nothing to do without you brah
I have this 3 week job and I'm my second day in, all I have done is digging weeds, not that fun but the other 3 week workers there are nice so I can stand it.
Don't let the man bring you down! Rebelionnnnnn! :D
I'm in college now but I'm going to have to get a small job soon.
Only things around are fast food restaruants, Walmart, and a few other shops. At least I'm qualified for them though.

It sucks you have to get a college degree to work at walmart.... Irony....
I work at home for a coupon website. Alittle tedious but i get to work from home so its great
I worked at Little Caesar's as a 'Shakerboarder'. I held a sign for 3 hours in the heat.
It was the most boring thing ever.
I'm an IT-Technician for a sports betting website. We have this huge office and its filled with computers, and my team has to basically take care of them and the network. I work with a team of 5 people, me being the 6th. The job itself is fairly easy, just fix stupid retarded issues like hardware failure on the workstations and servers and of course dealing with retarded people who don't know how to use a computer.
The thing I hate the most about the job is my manager who is just one of the most retarded people you will ever meet. He basically doesn't know shit about the job or computers. He always forgets shit, for example; we get requests from HR to setup a new workstation and user accounts for this new employee a month before the employee starts working, but because my manager is such a dumbass, he forgets to pass on the information, then when we only have 2 to 3 days before the employee arrives, he tells us we need to build a new workstation and make user accounts out of fucking nowhere which leads into rushing and sometimes not doing the job properly.
The things I love about it is, we usually don't have much to do, so I spend my time at work either browsing FP for the whole morning and then just playing TF2 for the rest of the day until my shift ends.
So yeah, getting paid good money to play games and browse FP is nice.
2 jobs at the moment:
1st:Work at my local supermarket, it's pretty small. I just sort stock and work the tills, I usually work mornings so people are pretty cool.
2nd:Work at my local gunclub, trapping (loading and operating the clay pigeon throwers. The job itself isn't that bad, but because I love in southern England the only people who go to gun clubs are rich snobs, I don't think i've ever met a bigger group of assholes in my life.
I just started working at Tim Horton's (For those of you who aren't Canadian it's kind of like a fast food restaurant famous for their coffee). My co-workers are pretty awesome, but some of the customers really suck. I had this guy come in the other day and I went over to the register to get his order and said "What can I get for you today?" and then he get this really odd look on his face like he's confused but also wants to hit me and replies "Let me finish my order first!". It's ok I guess, I'm enjoying the money, but the work sucks.
Well I'm still in the process of earning my degree, since I went part time at first.
So right now I work two jobs. My primary job now is for a landscaping / lawn care company. I mostly help put in shit like new patios or retaining walls...sometimes I'll mow lawns or help plant shrubbery.
My second job is for a computer store, where I generally work behind the counter and fix peoples' computers or build new machines for people. This used to be my primary job in high school, but I can't get as
many hours at the store.
I don't really love either job, but they're good enough...and I need the money.
Living in a country where you're still learning the native language doesn't leave many options. Right now I'm applying to be a tour guide. Things seem good so far, I've been on a few tours to observe and they've sent me the script to learn so I can have a practice run. Let's just hope I don't fuck up somehow!
I don't mind a job, but when the hours are so ridiculous that you have no time for anything then it sucks.
A job is a job. I only really care that I don't come into the workplace depressed and with a genuine hatred for what I am doing. Right now I wish I could be working at the moment but I quit my last job.
My summer job is the preparation for the Reykjavík Marathon, and the Laugavegur Ultra Marathon.
It's hard to explain what I do, but it's something along the lines of everything.
I like it, paid averagely well, tend to work there at least one more summer.
I just work in a convenience store. Hours are fine but a few of the workers are proper dickheads.
Giving in a cv to work in a local game shop so hopefully they hire me on the basis I'm not a technological retard and actually have retail experience.

My friend works at timmys.
As for myself, I am currently unemployed, but i hope to find a job.

It's how I feel right now, one day I want to work in something I have some sort of interest for but now I just want something that I don't hate and doesn't make me depressed (mainly that means not fast food places!). I feel ok about the tour guide job so I am hoping I get it as my options here in Denmark are not great till I learn the language.

No I mean I have to get a small job while going to college at the same time to afford gas, food, and other essentials.
Best case scenario is that Gamestop hires me but I'm not getting my hopes up there.
I got a job derivating chemical compounds and adding all of them into a database. This is about as fun as it sounds (not very), and there are about 13 000 compounds. I did about 8 000 before I went on vacation for 2 weeks.
I worked at a subshop when I was 16, I worked every saturday and sunday, then the boss hired more people and I worked every other saturday giving me a paycheck that was below $60, so I quit.
The summer of 09' after I finished high school, I worked for a warehouse unloading trucks every saturday. The owner of the warehouse told me: "You're not an official employee," so I got paid in cash.
Then I joined the army and so far it's pretty cool, there's a lot of bullshit at times but I got to do some pretty cool stuff. Sometime soon I'm going to go to Airbourne school to learn how to jump from a plane. Once I'm qualified in it I will get paid $150 extra each month, and to keep my qualification I only have to jump every six months. I'm getting deployed soon but I don't mind.
My job is good. The people I work with are friendly, and it's rare I deal with the public. I work as a housekeeper at a local event hosting center. Best part is I might be promoted to supervisor in september, so yeah.
I found a pet store that was hiring a few months ago. It's great. There's lots of entertainment value in the people that frequent pet stores.
Taking care of all sorts of expensive reptiles and birds is a nice way to make sure I don't get bored. Birds are territorial assholes by the way. Territorial assholes with powerful jaws.

There's a local reptile place a few minutes from my house it's pretty cool. I've always wondered what it'd be like to work there. Hosting iguana boxing matches out back :P
I work at EB Games. Yeah, I know the prices are shit and they rip everyone off, but the job itself is nice.
Good hours, and pretty good pay for my age.
Plus, all I do is talk to people about games, and sell them. Easy enough. :3
I work at Sams Club (warehouse store like Costco) as a tire technician/sales associate/cashier for the summer before I go back to school. The work itself was not that bad, just a lot of manual labor and little details to memorize, like company policies of Wal-mart corporation, what we can or can not do to customers cars, how to mount and install tires, the list goes on and on. It's an interesting job and I'm learning a lot from it, there are a lot of real life applications to this job (like knowing how not to be ripped off on tires by other places). Plus it pays pretty damn well!
Sucks ass mostly. It has it's perks though...
