I just built a new computer, got everything together, and running. Surprisingly easy knowing me. But now, after playing on it for so long, it starts beeping. It'll even beep when the system is powered off (and plugged in). It seems to do it when I have the main connector plugged into the motherboard. Any ideas?
What type of beeping? Describe it. And what do you mean "it seems to do it when I have the main connector plugged into the motherboard" ? You're supposed to always have it plugged in..
I mean it beeps if I have the power supply plugged in just to the mobo. It isn't video card or other peripheral related.
Its just a quiet beep, sort of like a buzz.

Good news: quit beeping
Bad news: Taking forever to finish POSTing.
Any chance you could record it with microphone and upload the file somewhere?

See my previous post. I'm waiting right now to see if I can even get it to boot.

Into Windows I mean.

Yep, I can boot into Windows. It takes about 5 minutes, but it does work.
What are your full specs? 5 minutes is an insanely long time to boot up..
still having problems?
Something similar happened to me, the Mobo started "beeping" so i double checked all wires.
It stopped after that. I think it had something to do with the power supply.
i'm not an expert maby your PSU is to weak.
I did warn him but he elected to get an el cheapo PSU when he was choosing parts.
Or maybe your PSU is overheating. My friends spare PC when I was over, the Motherboard started beeping and it turned out the fan wasn't working on hte PSU.
It does it on and off. And it's definitely not the PSU. Its been running all day and it's not beeping. And when it starts beeping, it only does it when it's plugged into the mobo with nothing else plugged into it.
battery maybe dying
