ACOG :|
Do you just call anything vaguely resembling a smallish optic ontop of a rifle an ACOG?

It's a closest thing i can call it.
I don't know much about optic's.
It just thought ACOG is a scope on a battle rifle.

StG 44 isn't even a battle rifle.
Wasn't the StG 44 an Assault rifle. And then the AK was inspired by it?
It's not a Stg44 either. One of the Tripwire devs told the forums what it was. I can't remember its name but it was a experimental gun or something. Extremely rare.
No, that is an StG44, the banana clip, stock and placement of the casing ejector give it away.
The StG 44 or MP44 was an experimental gun hidden away from Hitler until his commanders on the field started asking for more of them. It was the first mass produced and widely used Assault Rifle and was the basic design for modern day Assault rifles like the M16. Many people claim that the AK47 is used the Strumgehwer(Storm Rifle) 44 as basis but internally it is more like the Browning Automatic Rifle.
For those who don't know German identification, MP means Machine Pistole or Machine Pistol. MP40 is the most infamous gun with this designation. 40 is the year the weapon was first mass produced.
The whole point of the gun was for something that was stronger than a sub-machinegun but less powerful then its Carbine and Bolt action rifle counterparts. Hitler had no such interest in something like that so they had to use it in secret.

It's a Mkb 42, the precursor to the Stg44
Yeah, the StG44 wasn't in service during the battle for Stalingrad. One of the later guns in the Mkb series was named StG44 because of it's impressive performance.
I can't wait for a WWII game. I'm curious who won the war. Weren't the germans called Nazi's?
Rising Storm looks pretty cool.

Wait a second, they said they only had the Panzer IV and T-34 modeled yet there's a Type 95 and a Stuart in those screenshots
If that means there will be more tanks at release, all I can say is : :flashfap:
[editline]13th July 2011[/editline]
Also what the fuck is that loader doing in the 10th screenshot!?

I didn't know about the mod, I thought it was some kind of separate campaign but I should have guessed from the game's title :v:

There are already a bunch of mods being made, including I think a Warhammer 40k mod.
Didn't RPS post these last week?
