Well, I've been looking around and I would like to buy (Saitek Cyborg Keyboard) However I have heard mixed reviews about it, mostly good but I'm wondering if there are any other keyboards I should get? No Logitech G11 or G15, I see them way too often. It shouldn't be too pricy either preferably. *UPDATE* Also need advice on either a really really sturdy headset which has an excellent microphone or just a normal table-microphone.
Why do you need an expensive keyboard at all, what's wrong with a standard one? I used to have a g11, and it had no real advantages over a simple media keyboard.
Who said I need an expensive keyboard? Sorry but I just don't like G11 or G15.
I have this keyboard, it's really awesome! Really good for fps games :buddy:
go to the nearest computer recycler and pick up a ibm model m
go to the nearest computer recycler and pick up a ibm model m
This. Model M or a Scorpius M10. Take your pick.
scorpius m10 quality control scares me, i would take the jump to a majestouch cherry blue or brown, but one should really try the model m first [editline]11:27PM[/editline] you can get dell at101w easily on ebay
Majestouches are usually way out of people's price range, especially since it lacks the "features" people think they want/will use. Besides, the beauty of mechanical keyboards is that if one key fails, you only have to fix that one key. Anyone with a soldering iron and some free time is at no risk with the M10. Besides, I've seen three of them in person, and none of them have malfunctioned across the 2-3 years they've been in use.
g110
G110 if you need ricer, Model M if you need sex at your fingertips.

I got it on sale, Get a newer version though. From what I have seen the newer one is better and they fixed a few problems with it. But its a good keyboard.
g110
i have this it is good
IBM Model M. And look, colored keycaps!
I got a Saitek Eclipse II, great keyboard but no programmable keys. Can't say as I have ever felt I have really needed any, it has media keys and is back lit. Highly recommend.

mechanical key switches, they're much more expensive to manufacture but give great tactile feedback the reason we don't use them now is because you see those model Ms? they went for around 250 without inflation back then because of the difficult to manufacture key switches, but later, the chinese companies started making cheap rubber dome keyboards and selling them for much cheaper, and of course IBM had to compete so they too switched to rubber domes people don't know their value nowadays and sell them for cheap, you can usually find them at a computer recycler near by, but you can also buy them new the majestouch was designed by filco solely for asian gamers, which if you have ever watched them, are serious about what they do, so they used mechanical key switches (cherry blacks for gamers, linear actuation) yeah so ibm model Ms, dell at101w, and cherry boards are great boards that no one knows how to value so you can find them for cheap, but if you want to shell out 70-110 for a keyboard, get a scorpius m10 or majestouch perhaps you'll be extremely satisfied and shell out for a hhkb (happy hacking keyboard) for 250 bucks lol
Majestouches are usually way out of people's price range, especially since it lacks the "features" people think they want/will use.
Not meaning any disrespect, but what is so great about a decade(?) old keyboard?
25 years now, but it's the build quality and buckling spring keyswitches.
most are actually 20
Yeah that was a typo, they started making them in '85.
quality psots [editline]06:38AM[/editline]
I got a Saitek Eclipse II, great keyboard but no programmable keys. Are Saitek keyboards reliable as in they don't break after like a month.
IBM Model M.
You should spray it black, that would be the most epic keyboard ever.
it's been done
Don't get Saitek keyboards. Their build quality is absolute dogshit. The spacebar failed on both my father's and my Eclipse II within a year. Get a Model M or a knockoff like above, or if you want a BLUELIGHT keyboard, go with something Razer like the Lycosa or the Tarantula (I have the former, love it to bits)
Oh wow model M. That's the most retarded shit I've heard. Yeah sure I want a stoneage keyboard.
