Yes. I'm trying to record some Microsoft Sam lines and I don't know how to do so with Windows Vista. However, I don't want to download ANY software. I've already gotten adware from one program that was a bitch to get rid of.
sound recorder? [editline]09:00PM[/editline] Plug one end of the cord into mic and the other into sound
Didn't turn out too good. Was full of static.
Sam was fired and replaced by Anna, so you can't record him at all.

First, make sure your sound drivers are up to date. Then right click the sound icon and go to your recording devices. Right click in the box and enable "Show Disabled Devices". Enable Stereo Mix, and now you can record anything you want.
Thank you above poster.

Try Speakonia. It's safe.
Microsoft stole S.A.M. (Synthetic Animated Mouth) from Commodore computers. I still have my S.A.M. program on a 5.25" floppy disk for my Commodore 64 computer. I love how much you can tweak the voice to sound funny. Way more customizable than Microsoft's second-hand stolen iteration. :/
