• Weird stuff happening on start up at random

Okay this has started happening since I got a new graphics card (went from an Radeon 5700 HD to a GTX 560 Ti). Sometimes when I start up my computer, there are vertical lines all over the screen and the resolution is really small. The screen asking if I want to start up in safe mode or boot normally is also really hard to read with all the lines over it. When it gets to desktop all the colours are low quality or wrong. All it takes to fix this is to carry on turning it off and turning it back on until it looks like it's back to normal (which I'll know as soon as I see the motherboard picture, because it won't be full screen if it's okay). I don't know if it's the graphics card, or the drivers or the motherboard doing this. I think I can rule out the drivers since they were updated recently and the problem persists. I don't really think it could be the hardware either but I don't know why this is only happening sometimes and not all the time.
It does sound like its your GPU, I'd suggest RMA'ing the card.
Make sure your PSU can deliver enough power.
What operating system are you using? Be sure if your using XP that its got updates. I've seen issue where graphics cards wouldn't work correctly if it had not had updates up to service pack 2. In addition try to get the latest driver off the internet. Does the card work in anyone else's computer? What happens when you put your old one back in?
