This game really doesn't deserve the hate it gets, oh no it portrays the Soviets as historically accurate, what a crime!

It's not bad by any means, I've had some fun with it. Unfortunately for CoH2, it's the sequal to CoH, one of the greatest RTS games ever made, and it just so happens there's a shit tonne of mods for that game which incorporate the Russian front a whole lot better.
The added controversy doesn't help either.

Have they added in defensive structures yet? I played beta a long time ago, and there were hardly any defensive structures. My favorite way to play the first was, making a defensive base, and slowly moving the line forward. There was no way to do that in the second.
From what I've heard from people and the reviews I've read, it's become a bit of a cash grab with a whole hell of a lot of DLC and the gameplay is much less solid than the original. I'm gonna try it out for myself, but if you're interested in this, I would recommend getting the original Company of Heroes instead to be safe, which is also on sale right now as well.
