These appear to be supported by microtransactions instead of just advertising.

no
these games were already to f2p. you can just get them on steam now
Trying out Spiral Knights at the moment, I like how if you have any Steam friends who have the game too it will auto add them to friends.
I approve of this. Makes installing/playing F2P games much more simple.
Wanted to try one of these anyway, guess now is as good as time as any.
They would need to send out a free hard drive if they want me to play global agenda because it's not worth the space it takes up.
Bought it when it was £30, worst thing I ever bought without a doubt.
Turns out only Global Agenda and Champions Online are offered to Australians
Anyone who's not seeing all 5 games, try this url
http://store.steampowered.com/genre/Free%20to%20Play/?cc=US
Since you don't have to buy it, it's just a steam://install link on the store pages, that will work with any region
Sweet I always wanted to try out Global Agenda
I was waiting for this!
Spiral Knights is fun but I get disconnected every 2 minutes :\
Spiral Knights is a great game. Steam did good by adding it to their list.
How long until TF2 becomes F2P? :U
How long until TF2 becomes F2P? :U
I highly doubt it will... A free 2 play game, using VAC's delayed banning, that's just asking for cheaters.
As I said in the other thread, not a bad idea at all.
Fucking finally.

There would be overpowered store exclusive weapons and cheaters everywhere.
Hasn't Global Agenda been F2P for a while?
Hasn't Global Agenda been F2P for a while?
Yup.
Global Agenda has been F2P AND available on Steam for a while :v:
Its a good idea though, doesnt harm anyone to have free games up and just makes Steam more convenient and attractive.
so which of these are actually good, beside Spiral Knights? Usually F2P stuff isn't that good from what I've heard.
I assume they want to get players to buy ingame items via steam
I Love Spiral Knights and all, but I REALLY hate the Energy Feature, once the energy is depleted you cant play the game anymore until it refills.
Alliance of Valiant Arms is pretty fucking awesome

I have a great concept: You get you're money back if you don't cheat for a year and the voucher can be only spent on the in-game shop. Win-win situation as valve keeps the money and you get the game + items. Whatever.
