• Recommend a graphics card for me?

For christmas, I need a new graphics card, as mine is pretty awful now. I have an 8600 GS at the moment, and want to upgrade to something better. I play at 1680x1050 preferably (max res of my monitor) or 1440 x 900 (when a game is pretty intensive) usually, so something that could run games at the best / a high quality is great. Specs: CPU: Intel Core2Duo E6750 @ 2.66ghz RAM: 2GB DDR2 Motherboard: "Micro-Star International Co. MS 7502" - Graphic interface is PCI-Express, and it says link width "x16" Current Graphics: nVidia 8600GS 256MB PSU: Don't know, but it's the stock one, so probably not too good (although is was supposed to be a media PC, so it shouldn't be too bad?) Cooling: Stock. How do I find this out without opening my PC? I want to be able to play Oblivion, L4D2 and other Source games at high/max settings, and other games that will come out in the future quite well. It'd be nice to be able to play Crysis on high/max too but that might be asking too much in my price range. I'm not looking to spend over £200, preferably less than that. I need to be able to get it posted to England. What is the best card for my system? Also, I should be getting W7, so it'd be great if you could say whether it would be better for me to get 64-Bit for the card you recommend.
Doesn't really matter in MOST cases if you have 32 or 64 bit when you are thinking of graphics cards. [editline]07:11PM[/editline] But you should probably get 64 bit anyways, as soon you will need more than only 2 GB's of RAM. [editline]07:14PM[/editline] Well you can support 3.2 gb's of ram with 32 bit but that's about it.

Thanks. Although, I have seen that card on newegg for $169.00, do they post to the uk? I don't have relatives/a PO box in the US, so I can't get anyone to post it from there. [editline]07:01PM[/editline] [url]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102864[/url]
they do not OCs is your best bet
Thanks everyone :) Christmas is sorted now!
Wait, why do you need to know your cooling without opening your pc? [editline]08:00PM[/editline] You do realize you need to open your computer to put the graphics card in.
we [U]need[/U] to know your PSU, it'll be on a sticker on a box at the top or bottom of the inside of the case if it's a "media based" PC it's likely to be very low and a pretty crap brand
