In this thread post music artists that you love with reasons why. Through a thread that's taken me half an hour to write for some reason (is that like a fast threads record?), I've listed four of my favourites, so if you're bored or just want to check out some good music (in my opinion at least) take a read through then perhaps post your own. There's a lot of legends out there, let's hear yours! (and hopefully that way this won't die after 10 minutes) Mark Tremonti Tremonti of Creed/Alter Bridge fame is my favourite guitarist of all time (closely followed by Tom Morello). Not only is he an outstanding guitarist, he's also a fantastic song writer. Tremonti's solos aren't just wailing on guitars to be awesome, they have amazing pace and rhythm to fit songs perfectly without stealing the show and working well with the powerful voices of Scott Stapp (Creed) and Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge). Tremonti holds a place in my heart for breathtaking solos such as the 8 minute masterpiece of 'Blackbird' to the blinding pace of songs such as 'Ties That Bind'. Myles Kennedy gets a special mention just because of his amazing voice, he is my favourite vocalist because of the sheer power, balance and precision he can produce with his lungs. This guy is tipped to be the new frontman of Led Zeppelin, yes that is how awesome his voice is (don't believe me? check out the videos below). (check out the rock face yeahhhhhhhh) (if you don't have the time, at least skip to 4:00 on Blackbird) Blackbird Ties That Bind Grant Nicholas Grant Nicholas from Feeder is another one of my favourite musicians. Grant is a decent guitarist, but his strength by far is his songwriting. Grant is able to come up with really catchy songs such as 'Just a Day', slow paced songs like 'Just the Way I'm Feeling', power riffs in 'Miss You' down to the cascading orchestral masterpieces in songs like 'Who's the Enemy' . Throughout the entire Feeder discography I can always find a song to match my mood, whether I want to chill out, sing at the top of my voice or just find something to pick me up when I'm down. Just the Way I'm Feeling (my all time favourite song, simplicity and beauty) Who's the Enemy Just a Day Kelly Jones Another Welshman, Kelly Jones is the frontman of Stereophonics. Jones is well known for his "whiskey vocals", and rightly so, this man has an amazing voice to suit the wide variety of music styles he performs from the calm, upbeat 'Have a Nice Day' to the the fast paced and dark tones of 'Dakota' and 'Devil' to the moody jazz of 'Maybe Tomorrow'. (again, rock face :v:) You're My Star (their latest single and my current favourite Stereophonics song) Have a Nice Day Devil (music starts about 30 seconds in) Maybe Tomorrow (music actually starts about 1 minute in) Dave Grohl The most famous man on this list, it's Dave Grohl of Nirvana/Foo Fighters. Much like the other three guys, Grohl is well known as a nice guy in the music industry, with even Lemmy of Motorhead saying he's the nicest bloke he's met. From his days back in Nirvana, he has become an amazing drummer, and has been known to perform on the drums supporting bands such as Queens of the Stone Age, Tenacious D, NIN, The Prodigy and many more. Of course my main reason for loving Grohl is for his work as the frontman of the Foo Fighters, producing songs that any man who loves rock can't help but love.
