Those who live in there where do you buy computers, computer parts.I'm looking somthing like new egg but its for usa ppls as far as i know so maybe there is somthing for UK?
I've used both of these:
http://www.ebuyer.com/
http://www.scan.co.uk/
There is also:
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/
Thank you.Wery usefull
Ebuyer (Most efficient retailer ever?)
Scan (Excellent Customer Service)
Overclockers
Amazon
Aria
Misco
Kikatek
I tend to stick to the first two. If one doesn't have what you want, the other will. They are both very, very good.
http://novatech.co.uk are useful for some things
Scan also offer a very good warranty service for components. If you manage to balls something up beyond repair they will replace it as long as you purchase that warranty.
eBuyer do not seem to offer this, and Overclockers just suck shit price wise if I remember.
Overclockers just overcharge and have bad service. Don't ever buy from there unless you have a good reason to.
A couple of friends of mine have had terrible experiences with overclockers so I never bothered with them, I said this last time though and two people told me I'm stupid, it's true though.
I tend to buy my computer stuff from eBuyer, but my main beef with them is that they seem to use chimps to pack the stuff.
Seriously, my gaming PC build came in one box with stuff loose inside.
I wonder why I had to RMA the hard drive...
Also, don't forget http://www.dabs.com
Scan have so little stock though, always "Pre-Order"
Strange eBuyer have been very good with packaging for me. I bought 2 x 2TB drives the other day and they came in a huge box with those air bags round the sides and the drives in jiffy bags in the centre still inside their manufacturer's hard plastic shell.
Scan's support is mostly good, but they've started ignoring my emails re a certain RMA though.
First they tried to say I shorted the mobo by not using standoffs, so I sent them the pictures when I was building it.
Then they tried to claim that it was due to a little bit of thermal paste that that got onto the motherboard while I was de-assembling it to RMA it. So I got confirmation from the thermal paste manufacturer (Akasa) that it was conductive. They haven't replied to that yet.
I tend to use Scan or OCUK, I occasionally venture to Nova or ebuyers or various other ones if the other sites haven't got it or are costing more. I find Scan is generally good expect for the occasionaly RMA like when I sent a motherboard in after it would fail to boot, they sent it back saying it was fine, charged me £10 so I sent it back again after testing and only then did they admit it had a fault. I think that was more of because the board worked 50% of the time so they probably turned it on once and it worked.
That and their postage can be annoying sometimes, like ages ago I got an EVGA GTX260 which was literally just sent in one of their bags, box got pretty torn up as a result, thats why I like to use Overclockers too because they actually go with the good cardboard box with insulation for everything. That and I've had some pretty amazing returns to them before.

I've bought a handful of stuff from Scan and the packaging is ridiculous, in a good way. They put so much bubble wrap round my stuff I found it hard to get it off.

Maybe it's different warehouses
All my stuff i get from them is near on fort knox packaging.
Why is a sli bridge so hard to get in the UK?

It's not? They come with motherboards O_o
Next time I go to my dad's house, I'll send you one if you want.
My favourite is ebuyer, they have good prices, excellent customer service and they'll dispatch your shit for next day delivery until ridiculous times in the evening. Scan are good for price sometimes but their returns process is awful so I'll never be using them again. By awful I mean they took a week to give me an RMA number, and instead of replacing my 7900GT they gave me £30 store credit.
I've also had good experiences with microdirect.co.uk but I haven't used them for many years.
I like Misco myself. Some stuff's harder to find there but the prices are great.

Never seen a SLI bridge come with any motherboards me or friends have bought. Even ones that support SLI/ Crossfire.

I assume you only brought cheap motherboards?
I got one with my ASUS motherboard.

I didn't get one with an ASUS motherboard. Must be certain series and models that are provided with them. I'm not foolish enough to buy cheap-cheap motherboards.

I think I got a crossfire adapter with a graphics card I bought, they're cheap anyway so meh.
scan customer service is a pile of wank the cunt tried telling me I couldn't read.
Good delivery though but a £7 you would sort of expect it to be...
What's up with DABs?
I got the parts for my £800+ PC from scan.co.uk and have had quite the experience with them.
For price, they are the best, postage is quick and it all came well packed. However my graphics card broke about 6 months later (no fault of theirs) but when I went to send it back, basically I ended up without my PC for over a month. It was a HD 6870, I sent it back, waited, waited, waited. They kept telling me there was delays from Gigabyte and eventually I asked for a refund instead. SUDDENLY they have one and send it to me. Its refurbished, comes with none of the crossfire cables or adapters that I sent it of in and comes in some generic box. I put it in, and it doesent fucking work. I send it back again and wait some more, still being told delays etc until eventually after being fucked about for over a month they say I can have any 6870 from their website, so I choose an overclocked sapphire one that cost about £50 more than my original one.
So im not really sure, it could be that there were actually delays for everything and they tried their best to get me something, or they could have just been trying to get me to shutup and were fucking me around for no reason.
I'll leave it up to you.
SCAN sent me the wrong 570, complete with a shorter warranty and a crappy cooler. I didn't realise until it was too late. Despite their good RMA service (for a failing hard drive) I shan't be buying from them again.
Whilst were giving examples ill share mine.
Ordered a 460GTX
was meant to come with 2 molex to 6 pin power leads (not sure of the correct name)
ANyway it was meant to come with 2 of them.
None in the box at all so I double check 1st just to make sure im entitled to them btw I needed them my psu didnt have enough plug ins.
Anyway I phone them up around 4.45pm (now it may have been the time assuming they finish at 5pm thats still no excuse)
So this cunt tells me no they dont come with the GPU I said no please read the product description on your site.
He looks at it and STILL says no. I say fine fine I have my rights to send it back and ill take store credit.
Hes like ohh I can help now (fucking cunt) he then proceeds to tell me they dont sell these adapters in packs of 2. I said fine ill send the damn gpu back you can cover postage and you can send me a fresh one ensuring the adapters are in the box. He says no, more bullshit follows. I say just put your manager on he puts me on hold, I went for a piss after that so I dont know how long he was on the line when I got back some cunt is telling me they dont do the adapters I say dont lie to me Maplin sells them if they do you must.
He then backs down and says fine we will send 2 out in the post, was it really that hard ?
He then asks me what PSU I have I said its none of your concern and that I have what I phoned for.
The prick then goes well if you dont tell me I will register on the system that if you send it back and there is a fault with the electrics then you will not get a refund. I wish id recorded this cunt I then more or less cut him off.
Got my leads a week later.
tl/dr scan are cunts
spelling / grammar not covered im off to bed.
Wow, sounds like you were overreacting massively. You know those adapters are less than £1 anyway, right? Sounds like an awful reason to send back a GPU.

Right I knew they were what you failed to realise is that they didnt accept that an incomplete product had been sent to a customer. It wasnt the fact that they were worth a few quid thats not the point. The point is the guy catagorically denied the item was part of the entire package which infact it was.
Sloppy customer service does your company no favours.
Now if the guy had said hang on sir give me a few minutes to check your order ill see if your enquiry is correct.
Not deny it straight from the word go.
