Not sure myself, the first thing that popped into mind from recent years was APB, but the question is kind of vague (Does it mean the actual setting of the MMO jumped forward in time?)
I'm pretty keyed up on MMO news in the last 10 or so years, but after racking my brain I can't think of what it could mean mainly because its vague.
