Here's the quick run down. Shipped gpu for rma via fedex on 1-10-2013. Got a new gpu from XFX on 1-22-2013 from fedex. Installed it in pci-e x16 slot and connected power connectors didn't get detected by bios or windows. Uninstalled previous drivers and tried WMMD. Still didn't work. Disabled on board via windows device manager and unplugged vga cord. Still didn't work Installed AMD drivers and restarted with no avail for either bios or windows. Re-installed windows on ssd and installed latest drivers from AMD.com. Still didn't work. Installed Live Update 5 for bios update. Installed bios via flash. Still didn't work. Wiped and formatted my ssd and hdd completely and installed windows on hdd. Installed drivers from amd.com. Still didn't work. Installed a older ATI 3600 in pci-e x16 slot it worked with WMMD and AMD.com drivers. Removed it and installed 6870 in it's place didn't work. Submitted a ticket to XFX that GPU didn't work. They ask me to test it in another computer if I could. I only got one computer now and a tablet. My question to you guys does this sound like a fault gpu. The gpu has enough watts to run and is the same model of my previous rma'd gpu. The gpu fan actually spins but it's not detected by mobo or windows. Right now I'm using on board nvidia chip. I'm debating weather to buy a new mobo but I'm at wits end and like some incite. What's the PSU info? Seems like your board doesn't like that card.
Test it in friends motherboards it's 'dead'. No dvi signal or motherboard recognizing.
Damn dude, what ever will you do? What's that, the third card? That sucks.. Seems like your at brick wall.
Normally in and cards I've used they have a red light which turns on if it does not have the power cable plugged in or sufficient power. Have you tried unplugging the power and seeing if it still works? It can still pull power from the pci slot.
First two cards had fan problems this one didn't flat out work. This one I've RMA'd and waiting on shipping to California again.
Maybe its a bad batch they keep sending you from, I hope they send you a working one.
