FOUND THE RIGHT LAPTOP As the title says. My laptop is dying and I'm looking to replace it. However, I've got absolutely no clue what brands/types are good nowadays. Since I game on my desktop, I'll only be using this for the following: - Internet browsing - Microsoft Office - Occasionally watching movies - Play some old games like WarCraft III or Rome: Total War - Looking at photos of vacations Ideally I'm looking for a laptop with a 1920x1080 resolution, at least 4GB ram and an i3/i5 CPU. Due to bad experiences with a previous Lenovo I'd prefer it not to be a Lenovo laptop, but I'm open to be persuaded. Currently looking at this one a friend recommended: https://www.notebooksbilliger.de/acer+aspire+es+15+es1+572+30q9/eqsqid/e42bfb1f-7831-455f-bfd9-19482cba64bf Budget can go higher if necessary, but since I won't be using this all too often it won't be by much. I'm not gonna pay €700+ for a laptop I use once a month.
make sure when your buying a laptop with i5/i3/i7 make sure it dose not have HQ it means its noting like its desktop counter part

An H designation means it's as close to it's desktop counterparts as it can get. U sku's are always dual cores with hyperthreading, whether it's an i3, i5, or i7. As for that Acer, it's really not a well built laptop. 500 is a tight budget unfortunately for getting something half well built with 1080p new. Are you strongly opposed to anything refurbished?

You might consider a used Thinkpad. [editline]23rd January 2017[/editline] Honestly, it can be 3-4 years old, just slap an SSD and some RAM in the thing and you're golden

Adding extra RAM is fine, but other than that it would have to be a REALLY good argument to convince me otherwise. I should mention that the budget can go higher if necessary, but since I won't be using this all too often it won't be by much. I'm not gonna pay €700+ for a laptop I use once a month.
