The public beta release is due on 15th September. ok, thanks for showing us.
Looks nice.
Tabs next to the address bar...
Large back button and small forward button? What is this IE 6.5 or MSN Explorer? Seriously though I like the simplicity, even though the tab beside the addressbar isn't a good idea at all.
Looks very nice.
looks the same as every new browser
Large back button and small forward button? What is this IE 6.5 or MSN Explorer? Looks worse than FF4. And I hate the default UI of FF4. Looks like chrome, blah.
I'm really not a big fan of those tabs on the right. They would just get all squished if I had as many open as I usually have
I'm actually more shocked Microsoft have managed to strip shit out of a UI rather than adding more to it. Usually they think of some superfluous feature to add (e.g. 'Web Accelerators', 'Research', 'Web Slices') then whack a button for it on the toolbar which wastes even more space. Nice job.
Looks nicer than earlier IE's at least
It's like that on almost every browser, including the latest version of Firefox.
Almost ever browser? I've only seen it in Firefox.
Still wouldn't use it.
i agree with encryption
Doesn't look like something I'd use, If It was, I'd use chrome instead of firefox.
Wow, yet another version of IE to ignore, and uglier too boot. Microsoft is definitely heading down the shitter...
Still looks like a piece of shit software.
Looks a bit odd. Though, remember that since IE9 doesn't support XP, the vast number of users will be on Windows 7. Therefore will be able to use the tab / window preview thing on the taskbar - It could be easier to change tab using the taskbar rather than the actual tab bar. Which is at least innovative

Great, it only runs on Windows Vista and 7. I have WinXP Pro. FUCK! [editline]06:01PM[/editline] Also, GO FIYAHFOX! If firefox ever discontinues support for Windows XP while I'm still using it, I'd kill myself!
Before the war starts, this thread is to discuss the IE9 UI, not argue about the relative advantages or disadvantages of Firefox/Chrome in relation to Internet Explorer.

The icon for it is modified a little, and the windows are transparent with Aero on now. Looks good, but I'll just maybe pass and stick with Chrome.
The "UI" wend down hill after IE7 came out... and it's only getting worse.
The "UI" wend down hill after IE7 came out... and it's only getting worse.
Yes because this is the final UI. Also I don't see why everyone gets hellbent on UIs when 99% of the time they'll be focusing on the content of the browser and not the UI.
I like the more minimalistic design, for one.
I'm content with Opera, thank you.
Still won't use it
I really like how it's all compact, but the tabs could be a problem
