Using gnome that is. I've got a few programs running and I'd like them to start up at a specific location of the screen at a certain size.
Can I add some switches to the link to the programs? And if it doesn't work under gnome, do other window managers support anything like this?
I think [url=https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Devilspie]devilspie[/url] does this.
I thought Devilspie was a desktop terminal.

No, it hasn't changed. It's just that you can change window settings and all with it too so they just used devilspie as a way to pin gnome-terminal to the desktop and remove it's borders
