Last night during bedtime, I heard a rather loud "bhooopp" noise and it scared the fuck out of me. I came up with a few possibilities. A ufo's horn. (A device built into vehicles.) A secret project was being conducted. A neighbor's homemade toy. A random ghost that decided to move in to my house. Can you tell me where the sound really originated from?
Yes, because we can perfectly give you a answer with all the fine details you told us about the origin of the sound which i nicely summed up in this hyperadvanced list i just made below: - It sounds EXACTLY like "bhooopp". Pitch, duration, echo, and other specifications of the sound does not matter. (remember that it has 2 p's and not 1 p) - It scared the user - It was around bedtime for Nerokhan so around 20:00 - 21:00 I am afraid another facepunch scientist needs to solve this case as this is too precise for me.
It depends on where exactly the sound came from. Even then you'd be better off calling Dr Venture. Or failing that, Doctor Orpheus.
most likely. Although you generally get that when actually asleep
You can get it the moment you fall asleep too. Specifically if you're having that weird issue where you fall asleep too fast and jerk awake.

Didn't know anything about the exploding head syndrome until now. Thank you for the explanation. If I didn't get the answer you provided, I'll might end up having the same experience later without knowing.
EHS?
Wow, I didn't know that was a thing. I actually have that, I'll be in bed about to fall asleep and I'll flinch to a loud static sound that seems to be coming from inside my ears. Freaked the fuck out of me when it first started, told my psychiatrist and she said not to worry about it.
Happens to me too. If I'm really tired then right before I fall asleep I hear an extremely loud electric noise. Gotten used to it after it happening for a few weeks though.
