Hi
I was editing my video assignment in Sony Vegas about an hour ago when all of a sudden my PC locked up entirely. I had to shut it down using the physical button. After this it booted once but wouldn't connect to my network. I restarted it again, and it booted to the windows screen but locked up again. After this, all successive boots have failed. I've already gone back to a system restore point and it did nothing, I've tried to reset and refresh my PC but apparently my windows 8 disc is invalid ("the media inserted is not valid"). My OS is installed on an SSD. I put my windows 8 disc in and it got further with refreshing my install, but apparently my drive is locked, and when I try to reset it it says the drive is missing a partition that is required.
When I try reinstalling windows it says on all of my drives (HDD and SSD) that it cannot be installed on the drive because it has an MBR partition table.
I need to do this assignment, I'm worried I've already lost today's work.
Also it's $1300 down the drain and I've only had it a month.
UPDATE
I've figure out it's the network card: if I take it out it boots fine. I'm interested as to why it has decided to play up now after using it in my old PC for 3 years and this one for a month. It's a D-LINK TWP 525
