Hey Facepunch. I guess you are thinking "What the hell" and "Shit post", but I am about to make a Hackintosh from this HDD I never use.
I currently have the Leapord OSX 10.5 Disk right next to me, my hard drive, and my SATA + Power cable for the HDD.
Is there anything I should know before I do this?
Do I need a program?
Also, instructions would be nice, as I am too lazy to read :v:.
No stupid answers please
I am not supporting Warez, and don't talk about it here
good luck
What kind of rig you hackintoshin?

Not a bad one,
9500GT
2.5 GB RAM
AMD Core
Anything else?
>AMD
>hackintosh
choose one
By having the disc do you mean patched? If it isn't it won't boot. Be sure to enable AHCI mode in the bios also.

I'm assuming you've never ran hackintosh, I'm running Snow Leopard on an AMD Phenom II x4 965.
-snip-
AMD don't mix well with OS X
True.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. In most it doesn't.
Edit: There are patches for that

Also had it booting on a Athlon 64 x2 5000+. Guess I just have good luck.
I wasn't even aware the Athlon 64 had SSE3.

Most CPU's made in 2005 do, but I'm pretty sure there are patches for SSE2
If you were going for a true hackintosh I would go with an efx chip.
Gah. Dream shattered.
Any other OS I should install on this? (Besides Linux)
i've try booted with OS X, but I fucking hated it so I sent back to just a Win7 and ubuntu combo
Why is this called hackintosh? Isn't its name Project Osx86?
Yeah, but this is different.
I found a guide, seems like I need a patched version of Leopard,
is it warez, even though I have the Leopard DVD right next to me?

What kind of AMD cpu do you have? You probably can still run it with a little bit of work.
is it warez...
If you legally own the license, no it's not warez. But either way you're violating their terms.
I thought the EULA said that I could only make 1 for a backup copy... That's what I'll do then :eng101:
Post results. I sub'd to this thread. lol

According to TOS (terms of service) by apple you are not allowed to install apple products on non-apple computers.

Isn't that only on newer versions of osx because of whatever company but the older ones do not have it I think.
I don't think the "apple-only hardware" part of the EULA would be enforceable anyway, what with the non-monopolistic laws here in the US.
NOTE: IANAL
European user - licence agreement.
Damnit I need to go to the US again

That's not what a monopoly is, apple is far away from a monopoly, they are the minority. That's the same as saying my PS3 can't play Xbox 360 games so microsoft must have a monopoly.
EULA's are never enforced anyways and don't stand up in court very well either.

I don't live in the US.
stfu about the EULA already, I'm pretty sure Apple's not going to sue your ass over your curiocity of installing OS X on your one and only PC
