My family and I are switching to Verizon soon and as an early Christmas present I'm allowed to pick any phone I'd like.
So I'm here to ask what's the difference between the Droid Incredible and the Droid 2?
Don't.
I may have T-Mobile (which is perfectly fine)
But if I had to switch companies, I would go to Sprint. They have 4G coverage in some areas and are still the least populated cell network. (Faster data times)
They may even merge with T-Mobile.
I would highly advise not going with Sprint. Their network is not true 4g, just a marketing scam to draw in customers. Go with Verizon, it has great coverage, a bright future, fantastic phones, and their LTE network will be released soon.
I highly recommend the Droid X too.
They're selling droids for 1 penny on amazon wireless.
Ok so now that I have people opinions on whether or not Verizon is good or not, what's the difference between the Droid Incredible and the Droid 2?

You could have just used Google.

iPhone is coming out soon
Wait for the iPhone, get this. By the way, this is coming from a huge Android fan and an Apple hater. Until Android gets a standard updating tool and a minimum specification requirement so that way the apps aren't all shit, I'm going to stick with iOS.

Oh yeah, if you still want an Android phone after what I've said, get the HTC Merge that got leaked a few days ago.

HTC Hardware>Motorola Hardware, only reason I have the Droid Pro is it has a keyboard and it is a global phone, this will be Verizon's first Android-based HTC phone that actually has one and if I like the review-unit that I get, I'll make it my primary phone unless I'm out of the country.

Is that real?
[editline]20th November 2010[/editline]
Oh, its a case. Still cool
Yeah it's real, it's a case that you can buy right now for $70 and it has an integrated bluetooth keyboard.

Verizon has had android based HTC phones since they first started selling android phones.
I'm saying with a Keyboard.
Oh, I mis-read that. Sorry
I love my fascinate. Very quick, but still on 2.1 until january.
Posting from fascinate
Difference is screen quality, hardware power and the Incredible lacks a hardware keyboard. If you're looking for a hardware keyboard, a Droid 2 is the way to go (unless you want the BB-style keyboard, then get a Droid Pro). If you don't mind the lack of a keyboard, an Incredible.
Why the Incredible? The Fascinate is quicker and has a better screen.
Great choice, first of all. I'm a Verizon customer and have had almost no problems. But I digress. Droid 2 has a QWERTY keyboard, while the Incredible has a slightly larger screen
The Incredible has HTC's Sense UI, while the Droid 2 has Motorola's. Sense is infinitely better and more intuitive, though I like having stock Android on my Droid 1.
The Incredible has a snapdragon chipset. The Droid 2 has some OMAP one. They're both blazing fucking fast, but the snapdragon's CPU-powered animations are a lot smoother. It's obvious even on the home screens, where the Incredible gets a steady 60 fps and the Droid 2 is jittery and laggy.
The physical keyboard on the Droid 2 is great to have, but it'll take some getting used to. For some reason, all the keys seem a little too far to the right than they should be, but I haven't used the keyboard extensively, as I have a Droid 1.
The Incredible has this optical trackpad thing that's pretty much the bottom of an optical mouse without the light. It functions like a d-pad on a physical keyboard, and while not being all that useful, is pretty cool. It's nice for web browsing if you need to click on a link that can only be accessed from a hover drop-down menu, and you don't feel like doing the quick-touch-screen bullshit on the touchscreen.
They're both great phones, you won't go wrong either way.

Nope, same screen size.
Until Android gets a standard updating tool
What? Do you mean for apps or for the system itself? For apps, go to the Market and click Downloads. Any apps with updates will have an orange "Update" ticker. Plus, it checks periodically and tells you when you have updates. For the system, go to Settings - About Phone - System Updates. It also tells you automatically when you have an update.
ilolled, What about the Fascinate though. The fascinate RAPES the Droid2 and Incredible in Quadrant GPU baised scores. Due to having a hardware based GPU.

Yeah, but he asked about the Incredible vs the Droid 2 :v:
And both the Incredible and the Droid 2 have hardware-based GPUs, the Fascinate's is just better.
I say Droid 2 or Droid X.
Best option is definitely the Fascinate.
If you haven't gotton one yet, id say wait for the end of this year and pick up one of those spanky new windows 7 phones. It's ironic I'm telling you this because I'm writing this on my Droid. People are saying the WP7 phones aren't any good because they've just launched, but they're rapidly gaining pace and in my opinion have had the best launch with the most apps and such yet. Plus, the UI is sexy.
When I say automatic updating tool, I mean I don't want to piss around until Motorola/HTC decides to update one of their hundreds of devices, and sure you can argue that "oh yeah HTC Sense and MotoBlur need to be updated", Android could have some sort of third-party section where the code stays functional no matter what.
Brain blast! If you can use something else till next March, get the iPhone 4.

I didn't know Apple was going to release the iPhone 4 for Verizon.

It's pretty likely.

Verizon on iPad is a joke.
Anyone can just get a MiFi from Verizon and hook it up to a iPhone.

Huh? What are you on about?
Huh? What are you on about?
"iPad for Verizon"
Verizon gives you a connector that converts 3G/4G to WiFi, and since the iPad can use the WiFi, it's considered using Verizon on iPad.
