Well my laptop has 2x 8600M GT and I recently bought MW2, I can play on low settings and be almost lag free but I was considering overclocking my graphic cards a bit just to remove the annoying small lags I get.
I'm very new to overclocking and I downloaded RivaTuner, if you guys could tell me how to do so I'd apreciate it.
Also, is it possible to overclock both of my cards or only 1? (My game probably uses only 1 card because it's running in 1200x800 so SLI may not be enabled)
overclocking laptops = bad idea
and the res has nothing to do with SLi being enabled

I know that overclocking a laptop is a bad thing but I just want to overclock it a tiny bit.
Also, I'm not good enough to provide more information but I read somewhere that when you enable SLi, most games work with it on high resolutions.
I noticed that when I run a game on a low/medium resolution my screen flash to black for 1-2 sec and then goes to the game. It happen each time I switch from a full screen game to my desktop. But when I'm in an higher resolution (1600x900+) it just goes straight to the game without any waiting time.
the flashing is just your screen changing res, any screen does it
Post specs please? It's probably bottlenecked seeing as 8600M GTs should be able to run at least medium.
Sorry I'm noob with specs, I'll try to get as accurate as I can.
Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T8100 (2.10GHz)
3GB Ram DDR2
2x Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT
Also, on www.canyourunit.com I pass everything on MW2.
your cpu is pretty poor, tbh.

That's what I was expecting, I've read more on overclocking and it seems I should do it on my CPU instead of my graphic cards.
If you do it, don't go overboard, overclocking laptops aren't the best idea.

I'll try to get a 10%-15% increase, just a tad bit, but I'm confident because my laptop is well ventilated (side ventilations are awesome). I decided to overclock the FSB instead of the graphic cards.
Also, I'm actually running a stress test using Prime95 and so far so good.
Don't even go for that bro, overclocking laptops is a bad idea.

I went into more informations on overclocking laptops, there's lots of laptop in which you shouldn't even try to overclock and that's why I'm doing tests beforehand to see if I can overclock mine.
I've read around and I don't know how much you can normaly get with a normal PC but I've read that with laptops you can get up to 20% (maximum) without overheating.
You should try 25% and see how that goes from that point.

Nah, that's a bit too much, I'll go with 10-15% frist hand, I'm not looking into a huge increase, just a very small one.
Upgrading your CPU is a better option. Being a laptop, it's probably a prebuilt with a locked BIOS. So you're using setfsb or something.
You're going to burn it up quick.

I'll try to use SetFSB but I'm not sure if my Clock Generator is supported.
