I changed apartment recently and got a new ISP. I'm having problems with the router they supplied. It's a Technicolor TC7230. I can't access the router settings on 192.168.0.1.
Now, before anyone directs me to a how to setup your router website, I'm not that ignorant when it comes to tech. I have checked ipconfig and my default gateway really is 192.168.0.1.
The settings page only works when the router is starting up, after a restart or a factory reset. When the router is fully started the settings page stops working. (But the settings page icon on the Chrome tab still appears)
I have tried accessing it from 2 different computers, my desktop and my laptop. Same results.
I went to my ISP and told them the issue, they gave me a new router, identical model to the previous one. Same results.
While frustrated with this, I thought the problem might be my computers, so I formatted my laptop. Same results.
I have also tried with multiple browsers.
Is there a solution for this hell of a problem?

idk about your specific router, but some won't let you get to the settings while on Wi-Fi. Were either of the devices you were trying to connect from connected by ethernet?

Always by ethernet. I have had experiences in the past like that, where I couldn't access the settings through Wi-Fi.
Generally I found the Technicolor modems shitty to work with. Our ISP supplied us a TC7200, but after a while it was getting so unstable and limiting that I decided to downgrade that thing to a simple modem, thus I got a Netgear R6400.
However, putting it into bridge mode I came to the realization that the fucker still broadcasts the same SSID as I've set on the router now, so I had to call our ISP to get the access point disabled as you can no longer access the setup page when the device is in bridge mode.
So a tl;dr, I would recommend picking up a new router, putting the Technicolor in bridge mode as you still need it as a modem and hook up your new decent router to it. I surely haven't regret the decision to switch over!

I didn't quite get the part when you called your ISP to get the access point disabled. Will it be as easy as putting it in bridge mode and connecting the new router? I'm confused by the broadcasting same SSID you mentioned.
And how do I put it into bridge mode without being able to access the settings? Do I have to do it fast while it initializes?
The fact that it still broadcasts is a small annoyance that I've been dealing with, because I used the same custom name again for ease of access.
Either way, you would have to do it quickly while it initializes. The fact that this happens doesn't really give a logical explanation, and I doubt your ISP won't be able to do a lot about it either.
Alright so it hit me yesterday, my ISP themselves might be blocking my access to the settings. It seems that I was correct. I have unplugged the coaxial cable from my router and turned it on, so it was offline.
I could access the settings for as much time as I wanted. My ISP is going to hear from me next week. This is such bullshit.
