My stock apple earbuds broke, and i was looking at getting some in-ear earbuds. The klipsch s4 seemed the best for my price range, but one of the cons according to many reviews was the thin cord, which meant it could break easily. I hate it when my earphones wire stretches and the volume dims in one ear, which has happened to the billion pairs of sennheiser CX300's ive owned. Are there any earbuds around the price of the klipsch s4 or lower that have decent sound quality and wont dim or break after a couple of months?

What's your price range, you never told us.
I have owned a pair of S4's. If you like clear sound and little bass then it's good for you. The cord is fine. Lasted me more than a year before the right side went out, but I abused it.
I am looking for another pair of, but something better than the S4's

My price range is under $80 Australian dollars. I didn't say a price range before because 1) this forum is mainly US so itll be confusing, 2) prices in australia for all tech are jacked up heaps so a us/aus conversion will be inaccurate and 3) ill be buying off ebay, not retail so i can get it cheaper.

shipping from the US takes way too long for me, the last time i bought something off amazon it took two months to get here
For some reason, I always find that the cheap $6 pairs you find in the checkout aisle are pretty nice.
Look around for the Meelectronics M9P. The cable feels strong and the strain reliefs are pretty good, though I'm not sure of the availability outside North America.
I have had nothing but good memories using Altec Lansing headphones. They've rolled out a new series of headphones, Musx or some such since I last had a pair from them, but I owned some Backbeat Plus headphones and they were amazing, though the cloth cord wore out quickly.
Klipsch, well, you can never go wrong with those. There was a $150 pair of over-the-ear headphones I tested at Best Buy and boy did they sound great. Might pick up a pair (for much cheaper) online.
But yeah, as far as cable strength, I've found the plugs that don't have the solid jack protector, but the crosshatched ones are FAR more durable. Like this, the one on the right:

Keep that in mind when you purchase headphones. Gone through so many standard Apple headphones by abusing them and the cable gets torn/damaged there.
