• CPU temp not showing in operating system

I have a Phenom II x4 965 @ 3.4GHz that I got a few months ago. When I installed it and looked for a temp, hwmonitor & other programs showed 32 degrees Celsius (0F), but I didn't really think anything of it and still don't. I am using the stock heatsink. I ran Prime95 and it recorded no temperature. When I touch my heatsink's pipes, it is not warm surprisingly (no heavy processes). In fact, I would even say it's a bit colder than my ambient temperature. However when I run tests like Prime95 the heatsink does get warm. I have reapplied thermal paste and made sure the heatsink is placed properly. In the BIOS I think the CPU temp reads around 40C. Speedfan or coretemp? Also some cpu measure Delta T (Difference until T max)
