I am currently running 2 hard drives in my computer, One 500GB HDD (This holds my OS, Windows 8) and a 1TB HDD (mainly used for Films, TV Shows and Games). I am wondering how good an SSD is over what I already have and is it worth the money. Also if I do buy one how do I transfer my operating system onto the SSD ? Any help is appreciated !
An SSD is pretty much the biggest difference you can make price/performance wise. I'd highly recommend it. As for transferring everything, the amount of data on your 500gb has to be less than the size of the SSD. Defrag your hard drive, then use acronis to image the 500gb drive onto your new SSD.

Thanks for the information, I have heard good things about them, looking into some Kingston SSD's at the moment if you think that's a good brand ?
Most go with Samsung, Intel, SanDisk or Crucial.
Definitely not Kingston. They did some shady stuff with their drives, would not trust.

Crucial makes an excellent drive, and they're generally one of the most budget friendly.
