Makes sense - didn't those recently leaked Xbox documents say there was going to a streaming service in the future?
This is a good thing. I'm sure the OnLive team did a lot of work with networking optimization to get their service to work on the awful internet that most people have, and that knowledge could be really useful.

I'm not saying Onlive or Microsoft's streaming service to be bad, just a reality of what would happen. My advice for those people from Onlive is if they have interest in joining Microsoft is to only see it as a stepping stone to a company like Google or to a better branch.
Wow I totally forgot about OnLive, I remember when I managed to snag Deus Ex : HR for £1 as part of their old promo thing, unsure if it still runs now though.

If they go to work for microsoft, of course they'd be working on microsoft projects? What I was trying to say is that they'd be able to do a lot of good for microsoft services. As much as I love google I wouldn't say they're necessarily a better company - they do good work with hardware, search engines, and voice services - but their attempts at a desktop OS are awful and their music player is shit compared to microsoft's. I know there's a big microsoft hate bandwagon here, but they do a lot of good work. (and on another note - they're trying to give some recently jobless talented people a job back)

The example of using Google was from Johnny Lee who worked on things like Kinect before he went to Google. And yes both companies do excel in certain areas and lack in some, from what I've known the xbox branch has both great and terrible sides to it and I can't say where the former Onlive members would fall under. I just hope they won't create something down the road and have it shelved like the tablet or phone Microsoft did.
I just hope they won't create something down the road and have it shelved like the tablet or phone Microsoft did.
Exactly what tablets or phones by microsoft have been shelved? If you mean the surface they're still underway to be sold, and windows phones are already out...
courier the two panel tablet, and I was going to say Kin and zune but that had several products released before being discontinued. The second one that was fully developed but then canned slips my tongue.

As for the courier, I hadn't heard of that but it sounds really neat. Just because a few products have been cancelled doesn't mean going to work for microsoft would be a waste - even if a product gets cancelled the relevant research usually still goes to work somewhere else.
the courier would have been great for windows 8, but they pretty much killed it saying they were postponing it until further notice. And Microsoft in certain branches in recycling projects arn't efficient as one would assume compared other large companies so I'm skeptical but hope for the best.
This is good for those OnLive guys.
