Hey guys,
Having a little problem with TF2. I recently re-installed Steam a few nights ago and have been playing TF2 religously.Everythings been fine until my game suddenly crashed and forced my computer to restart automatically.
Now when I try to play TF2 I get an error message saying:
"Steam was unable to sync your files for Team Fortress 2 with the steam cloud.
If you have played this game from another computer (Which I haven't), your game settings and/or progress may not be in sync with what is stored in the Cloud. If you play the game now, you may lose those changes or progress."
I then get an option to either play the game or cancel. I can still play, but all sounds are echoed and I have none of my unlocks.
I've done some Googling but none of the results seem to hold an answer. Any help?

It's happening with all my games on Steam now that I look at it.
Did you try deleting the "*\steam\steamapps\<steam username>\team fortress 2\" folder?
What would that achieve?

I'm genuinely asking by the way, not trying to be smart.
It would reload tf2 from your cache I know you said you reinstalled steam.
There might be some problems where it downloaded the files wrong, so reinstall a reinstall.
Did you try to verify Game Cache Files (GCF's)?

Well, when I say re-install, I mean installed after about 7 months of being uninstalled. Plus it was working fine for the last few days.
It is steam...i think. My l4d was the same today. Still like that but my friend steam works. But a friend he has so does it not work. Random problem on steam maybe?
Hmmm, well, I'll wait and see if it sorts itself out. If not, I'll try another re-install, timgames.

I hope it works out
edit: Also I just re-read your post and if it is every game, then don't reinstall your games, just move your steamapps folder and reinstall steam, and move the steamapps folder back. Saves you some download time.

Awesome, cheers.

Actually, while we're at it, I was having another problem with Half Life 2 and Half Life 2: Episode 1. Neither will start, at all. I try starting them, the screen fades to black for a second then it closes, no error message, no nothing.
Any fix for that?
Team Fortress and Co. works again, but still having the problem with Half Life 2, Ep. 1 and now Source SDK. Any help?
Did you try to verify Game Cache Files (GCF's)?
On both Half Life 2 and Eps 1
Also no intro? or do you have -novid on?

Yeah, I did try verifying them. No luck.
No, I don't have it on, what I mean is I click on it to start playing, the Steam box comes up saying it's preparing, the screen flashes black as though it's about to start but then it goes back to the desktop, with no indication of me having started the program at all.

Tried verifying again, no problems with the files.
