I have been using it on my iPad 2 all day and so far it's been a bast. Everything runs smoother and the split keyboard along with the new touch gestures really bring it all home.

the update process gives me an "unexpected error has occurred" message and it forces me to reboot my phone and restore it to 4.3.5

C'mon iPhone dev team! I hope this version of iOS isnt harder to crack then iOS 4...my iPad 2 has been waiting for a while.

It's sort of a good thing I only have a 2nd Gen iPod touch, because I literally just updated to iOS 4 three days ago, and I had to put all of my music back on my iPod manually as a result.

Apple removes the UUID requirement on GM builds but it seems this time they've put a time bomb on it. Don't ask me, I'm just pointing it out.

Also for this, will it kill my signal, and do I need a newer iTunes than the one which is currently released?

Can you update to iOS5 through Itunes yet?

Don't think so, should be today though, hopefully the iPad 2 jailbreak will come out this week.
