Hey guys, Im trying to build a PC in a £600 limit, this is because i don't want neither next gen consoles. I am not to technical with parts and stuff so i dont really know what im looking at. I want a decent PC in which can run games such as Battlefield 3-4 Dayz, RUST and just generally high quality games, any help given I am thankful for. [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] If your american this would be pretty much 1000$, thanks for any help given.
I recommend you get this: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1TMbI It's a little over your budget, but you can always buy the graphics card later and use integrated graphics before then. You can also downgrade to this: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-fx787acdfc or http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-01gp43656kr If you're not going to use SLI or CFX and you don't mind the drop in audio quality (which you won't notice unless you're an audiophile), you can drop down to this motherboard without a performance penalty: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z87g41pcmate If you don't want to overclock: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1TMeL In this case you could upgrade the video card to: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-r9280xgaming3g if you didn't mind going over budget a little.
what does overclock mean? [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] Also does the quadcore processor mean that its 3.4ghz x 4 so it would 13.6ghz in my PC "if" i built this model?
what does overclock mean? [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] Also does the quadcore processor mean that its 3.4ghz x 4 so it would 13.6ghz in my PC "if" i built this model?
Overclocking is the process of increasing your processor's frequency so more instructions are executed per second at a cost of higher power. Basically this translates to more performance, but more heat. It's a free way of getting more out of your processor when you need it if you have a decent aftermarket cooler. Frequency is measured per core not per processor, so each core on your processor runs at 3.4GHz (which you could argue that since Hz is, in this case, instructions executed per second your processor runs at 13.6GHz since it does execute 13.6 billion instructions per second), but why does it matter? You're still getting the same performance out of it regardless of how you measure it. Also, don't think that frequency is a measure of performance, because it's not unless you are in the same family of processor (AMD's processors usually run at 4 or more GHz at stock clock, but they underperform Intel in single core performance). I recommend you get the "if you don't want to overclock build", and stretch to the R9 280X if you want to.
thanks man, any other problems ill be sure to message you on your page. thanks a lot! [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] are you sure the power supply is good enough? [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] Also would this be able to run, rust, dayz and battlefield 3 or 4? because I want to make sure its good enough for that purpose. [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] Another thing with the one with no overclock, are you sure that the Motherboard is good enough or should i get an upgrade?
For your purposes, yes. Also stop underlining things. The motherboard is perfectly fine. It takes very little to run games, so obviously this machine is capable of running those games, but your question should be can it run them at a smooth framerate. Gigabyte's 7870 is a fantastic card, expect medium settings at a smooth 60 FPS at the very least. With the R9 280X you can, generally speaking, crank things up to high/ultra with a smooth 60 FPS.
Sorry, Thats great! what about the power supply is there anyway i could crank that up a nudge? [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] I really don't wanna frie my computer so i would rather spend more on a power supply. [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] I will need a network card for both wirless and wired networking
You can go for a higher watt PSU if you really want, thought it should be fine on a good (efficient) 500w. You won't need a network card for wired networking, you'll have ethernet on the back of the motherboard. You can get a PCI card or just a USB dongle for wireless.
I have a USB dongle for wireless but i would rather have built in wireless for security purposes, ill mainly be using a wireless connection so its more beneficial to me.
What do you mean security?
i have a lot of younger people in my house and alot of stuff gets damaged. [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] btw do you recommend any good gaming mouses, keyboards and headsets?
Oh okay. Well you could just stick the dongle in a rear USB port? As far as gaming peripherals go Logitech has always been a solid bet, but there's so many options now you may as well have a look for yourself.
any links to the website to buy from?
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1TNGk Buy all from aria, best gaming build for around that price, will run everything at maximum at 1080p easily.
i need a gaming mouse and headset for 20£ max each from where and what model
There is no such thing. "Gaming" Is just a buzzword term added to cheap crap to make it more expensive. If you want a good cheap mouse look for a CM STORM Xornet. Also headset's are incredibly poor quality and I doubt you will get anything worthwhile for less than £20. Get a pair of sennheiser HD201's instead, you lose the mic but I am sure you have a cheap mic lying around somewhere. If not just buy one a cheap one with the rest of the stuff or something I imagine you can pick the mouse and 201's (and a mic if you don't have one) up from amazon
what about decent keyboard? cheap and reliable?
What is your budget for a keyboard? You won't be able to get a mechanical keyboard for less than £50, but there are some other good cheap alternatives.
yeah just a cheap alternative would be good
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-K120-Keyboard-UK-Layout/dp/B003PO22H2 One of the highest rated "cheap" keyboards on the internet. It's almost impossible to find a keyboard that isn't just a "standard" keyboard unless you spend over at least £30 sadly.
is tht a standard keyboard? [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] will it have something called TLR keys? [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] what about the CD Rom and the USB ports, network interface card for wireless
is tht a standard keyboard? [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] will it have something called TLR keys? [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] what about the CD Rom and the USB ports, network interface card for wireless
Yes it's a standard keyboard. I have no idea what TLR keys are, they don't exist according to google. If you want a disk drive you can find one on aria for less than £20 easily. USB ports come on all motherboards. If you want a wifi card they are a couple of quid on aria too.

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-n6502gd5oc
The T processors are low power usage. Why do you want such a weak graphics card when you have a budget of £600? You should ALWAYS spend more on the GPU than the CPU for a gaming machine. [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] Ignore the clock speed on the GPU, that is completely irrelevant to how fast the card is unless the cards you are comparing are the exact same chip.
this is my build so far: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1TQLD [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] if you can choose a better one that would be good , thanks
this is my build so far: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1TQLD [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] if you can choose a better one that would be good , thanks
Well first get rid of the CPU cooler. If you aren't overclocking there is no need to spend that money on a cooler when the one that comes with the CPU will do the job just fine. Also you can easily get a 500W PSU and save some money of that, the max TWP of that entire system is only 227W. So 650W PSU is a total waste of money. Get rid of the cooler, get a smaller PSU, spend the extra money on a better CPU and GPU. Something like this: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1TQZG Why are you buying all the parts from Amazon except the CPU? If you are taking shipping into account (which you should be) then it would be much better to buy it all from a single vendor and thus reduce shipping.
What do you recommend for the GPU?
What do you recommend for the GPU?
7870 XT from Aria. Currently £140, incredibly fast. almost 3x as fast as the 650. [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] It's under "7870 Tahiti LE" on aria, not 7870 XT.
Do you have the link? [editline]27th October 2013[/editline] i don't really want to use Aria, just scan or amazon uk.
