Yeah unless you remove all kinds of communication from the game then good luck. Unless you're prepared to pay for millions of anger management classes.
Just need to come up with a way to take away anonymity. Suddenly people behave
Maybe make a good game???
Overwatch is a game that thrives on annoying and downright enraging mechanics. Its going to make people mad.
Maybe not have a game that is "competitive" even in the non-competitive modes. Maybe don't say "yes" to every decision made by anybody. Stun abilities? Yes. Annoying abilities? Yes. Unfun game? Yes. [sp]I wish the map design was an issue all across Blizzard.[/sp]
Just need to come up with a way to take away anonymity. Suddenly people behave
People really need to stop spouting this bullshit. People aren't acting like assholes because you don't know their real name, they're acting like assholes because they're assholes.
Just need to come up with a way to take away anonymity. Suddenly people behave
The only real thing needed to prove this wrong is facebook and twitter. People have their names, locations, etc on there but there is still plenty of assholes. It wont make anything go away. I could see it actually worsening the issue worst case scenario. Imagine getting doxed because you didnt rez the mccree on your team.
I said this before in another thread, Blizzard need to start taking much harder action. There was a guy who had received over 2000 reports, the highest amount of any player. What happened to him? A week's ban. A week later, and he's probably back at it again. You need to start punishing people much harder than this. There's a reason toxicity is so rampant, it's because the system set up for punishing people doesn't work and people know this so they continue.
Just need to come up with a way to take away anonymity. Suddenly people behave
That's a huge problem waiting to happen. This problem doesn't has a solution. You could go about the same way Riot goes, but that seems a bit too excessive over mean words. But it DOES help. A couple of my friends have had huge flaming outbursts and they got banned in hours. One quit because he couldn't be hassled with making yet another account, but the other restarted. Then again, this problem is on them. Competitive games raise competitive toxicity. I get that comp games get a lot of people, and if theres something I like is high active player counts and a competitive mode, but you'll have to pay a price for that nowadays, when people take gaming so damn seriously.
Just need to come up with a way to take away anonymity. Suddenly people behave
What do you want them to do, force their SIN numbers into their usernames? :v: You see their Overwatch username, you can report them.

People aren't acting like assholes because you don't know their real name, they're acting like assholes because they're assholes.
I mean, it helps. Compare assholes you encounter IRL and in video games. I'm not likely to say "yeah no you're full of shit" to someone I barely know IRL, but I would on the internet.
Stuff like the freeze and stun mechanics combined with the low tick rates and bullshit hit detection make me so much angrier in OW than TF2 for example.
Just need to come up with a way to take away anonymity. Suddenly people behave
This is the most dangerous idea in existence with the internet and not only does this not work with false ID's but it also can literally threaten lives. it will never be a good idea to do this sort of thing because it will never work. Doesn't work for facebook, that's for sure.

And now we have endless waves of people going "We should force everyone to use their real names online because reasons!"

Because enabling sociopaths is better than enabling annoying whiny manchildren.
