Hi! I recently sold my laptop that I used when traveling for playing games and browsing stuff and shits. Now my only portable gaming platform is a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5" (which really is an awesome tablet) I will be traveling tomorrow and would like to know if people know some good games I can play on the go? So far I have Baldurs Gate and Civilization Revolution. Internet connection will be limited, so offline games are prefered. Games I despise: Micro transaction riddled games Games where I need to wait to play Really casual puzzle games without any challenge Dumbed down versions of good games (Civilization Revolution unfortunaly fits here) Games I like: Strategy RPGs Games who feel a bit deeper than just "slide 2 squares together and watch fireworks" If theres any other tips on how to pass the time, please tell. And there's no point in telling me that gaming on android/tablets suck, because I know it does.
Plague Inc? [editline]5th February 2015[/editline] Game Dev Story's good too
You can get GTA 3/Vice City/San Andreas for android and they work pretty well with touch controls, even better if you have a controller. The Dead Space android game is also pretty cool, can't remember if it has any microtransactions though, if it does I've never felt like I needed to pay to have fun with it. Hitman Go is fun as well. Also you can just download a bunch of emulators and play older games, especially RPGs

Hearthstone is an obvious one. There are a bunch of board games like Catan, Carcassonne or Ticket to Ride. Autumn Dynasty and Frozen Synapse come to mind too. Not really what you wanted but cook serve delicious and one finger death punch are so addicting. A very biased suggestion from me is Pachi and Tsumego Pro. Go is pretty niche though.
Plague Inc?
I would highly recommend you get a massive battery backup if you go with Plague Inc. Also make sure your phone/tablet is well ventilated.
Dungeon Raid is a preety unique (and fun) game, and it has plenty of content, like 3 game modes and 10 classes (IIRC)
I don't know how you would define a poor puzzle game, but I have enjoyed Kami. I also like Type:Rider
Pixel Dungeon is a fun game as well, at least imo.
Flash wrappers like issess SWF Player are pretty decent if you want to play a flash game that requires extra keyboard buttons. It's not really for everyone, but if you can download some SWFs and your device is stronk enough to run them, I'd say it's a nice way to broaden your horizons.
Pixel Dungeon is a fun game as well, at least imo.
I'll have you know I prefer shattered pixel rungeon basically PD with some balancing and new items [editline]7th February 2015[/editline] also sumotori dreams and shadowfight 2
ePSXe is pretty great Can use it to play Metal Gear Solid and all sorts of shit
Cytus, Deemo, and Ridiculous fishing are all my favorites.
X-Com if you haven't played it, Dead Space was actually brilliant too.
port's of Final Fantasy.?
Crusader's Quest is a great RPG, but is limited by a stamina system. There's a cash currency, but it is easily obtained through pvp matches and you pretty much don't need to spend a single dime to get anything good.
Plants vs. Zombies 1- Sadly EA took over and now the mini games cost a ridiculous amount of coins(they think you'll want to buy them) but the full adventure mode is free. Plants vs zombies 2- Once again, shitty EA, but none of the "premium" plants are required. Coins and gems are very easy to get. You can completely ignore micro transactions in both and do just fine. Hero siege, blackmoor, and shadow fighter 2 are the only other ones I play. Hero siege has dlc, but no terrible micro transactions. Blackmoor is like a 2d portable castle crashers. You can buy coins but it's pretty easy to get coins in game. I'm a little torn on Shadow fighter 2, it' an amazing fighting game but has microtransactions up the ass. You don't need to pay to advance, but I was tempted several times to buy.
Emulators for old systems are awesome. and GTA: Chinatown Wars is on android now, so that'd be cool
Plants vs. Zombies 1- Sadly EA took over and now the mini games cost a ridiculous amount of coins(they think you'll want to buy them) but the full adventure mode is free.
I know that they destroyed the sequal with microtransactions but did they do it to the 1st one aswell? I bought it in a humble bundle and the version I have seems to be like normal, though I haven't played it in ages. Also, I'll list off all of the games I play on my phone since a lot of them are great but probably not for everyone: Feed'em Burger - A game I only just picked up yesterday. You click one of 4 buttons to make a burger from buns, meant, salad and cheese. Sounds boring but it's VERY fast pased and incredibly hard to master. It had several people in my college addicted and playing it all day. 8 Ball Pool - An online pool game. Depending on how good you are you may have to wait to play sometimes, but if you win more games than you lose and you start out on the lower beting games then you'll be fine. Chocolate Pinball - Really simple little pinball game. Has plenty of achievements so if you are like me then you'll love that. Only one machine to play but it is a good machine and is the best pinball game I have found. Crossy Road - Think frogger but infinite and you unlock characters with the coins you win. Another one of those high score games but very addictive. Follow the Line - Put your finger on the screen and stay on the white line as the map moves. Not something to play for hours on end, but just a fun little mobile game to give a couple of goes every now and again. Ingress - This one uses the real area that you live in, plants portals on "landmarks" and you must fight with the opposing team (green vs blue) to gain control of the most places in the world. Extra fun with friends, still pretty fun alone. Minigore 2 - Literally Boxhead: Android Edition. Unlockable characters and levels for getting further in the game. Pretty fun if you enjoy shooting mass hordes of zombies. Minute Quest - Just tap. Tap to move. Tap to attack. Level up and buy armour/weapons to fight harder enemies. Pretty fun though might get boring, still try it out I say. Pizza Boy - Like Mario but not. A nice little platformer with cute graphics and fun gameplay. Only platformer I play on android. QuizUp - Has tons of topics to choose from with more beign added and updated often. If you know a lot about a ceretain topic it's fun to try and get to be #1 in your area/the world on the Quiz. Retry - Kinda like Helicopter if you ever played that flash game. Tap to fly, fly to continue. Controls are wierd to get used to but you get used to them fast. Made by the Angry Bird guys from what I remember. Spell Tower - Somethign I got in the Humble Bundle and I love it. A word finding game with different modes. Again, not for everyone, but if you like word puzzle games then check it out. Word Base - Another word finding game, however this time it's a race to get from one side of the board to another side against a player online. Pretty fun though you have to wait for the other player to move so it can be a waiting game. You can start multiple games at once but only 5 I think. Worms 3 - Don't really need to say much here. Great version of Worms for android. I have mainly played it multiplayer locally so maybe I am biased but the single player was fun too. ZooKeeper - Fun but super hard to bead other players online since they all seem super human. It's a kind of connect 3 or more game but different than 99% of the conenct 3 or more games on mobile. And that's it, didn't realise I played so many android games, damn.
I know that they destroyed the sequal with microtransactions but did they do it to the 1st one aswell?
It went f2p and now the mini games can be bought in packs, which are around 100000 coins each. The zen garden gives you very little coins, so it's not really worth the time. The micro transactions in pvz2 aren't that bad, they give you lots of free coins, upgrades and powerups. The plants for real money is shitty, but at least they give you all the necessary ones.
Thanks a lot for all the tips guys. I had completely forgot about emulators. I actually had a SNES emulator installed with loads of games, but didn't want to play it with touch controllers. So thanks to you I bought this totally rad keyboard case so I could play my Donkey Kong Country [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/5YXRvyc.jpg?1[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/7sH6yN8.jpg?1[/img_thumb] (Sorry for the nasty flash photographs.)
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/5YXRvyc.jpg?1[/img_thumb] (Sorry for the nasty flash photographs.)
Took me a while to realise that was a tablet with a keyboard attached, thought it was a laptop :v:
Another neat thing you can do, if you have a 600+ series Nvidia GPU you can use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.limelight&hl=en and make your PC think your phone/tablet is a Shield so you can stream games to it, you'll need a controller plugged into it, though I know it won't really help you when traveling and offline but I'm just throwing it out here for the people that might be interested in playing stuff on their android device
Dungeon Raid is a preety unique (and fun) game, and it has plenty of content, like 3 game modes and 10 classes (IIRC)
Link? The only dungeon raid that comes up is one of those annoying bejewelled-esque matching games
