Shitty ass fucking website They deserve to have the SWAT barge in on their houses and wack their servers with a M16A4's blunt end for hosting child porn & the shame that is creepshots edited: Piss gargling fuck ferrets even hide the woman shaming and kiddie porn behind free speech? I hope that the same SWAT force grabs a horse dildo coated in porcupine semen with cheetah fangs attached to its everything and beat their dicks flat
So uh Reddit, when will your administrators get their common sense module installed?
"We stand for free speech... we are not going to ban distasteful subreddits." Yeah you have freedom of speech, but you also have the freedom to use common sense and if you aren't going to use it then you deserve all the shit you get.

It's all hosted elsewhere. You should be saying for them to take down IMGur because 99% of the time, it's hosted on there. Reddit is a community site with very little structure besides communication methods. I think the Reddit mods are fucks for banning gawker or pulling the freedom of speech card. They are facilitating this behavior, which I think is wrong.
Saying their users should be allowed to post whatever they want because of free speech, yet they allow subredits to block links from a site. How hypocritical.
fuck

So you have a social site which wont remove content because of "free speech" and then you have an image host which is hosting anything from CP to gore and they ignore most reports. Oh and don't forget the banned FP hotlinking at one stage because of the vast amounts of porn being hotlinked and porn being against their TOS, yet near every porn subreddit uses imgur and its unaffected. Both sites need nuking.
In addition, Reddit administrators imposed a site-wide ban on posting the specific Gawker story about Mr Brutsch.
Free speech as long as it's convenient for you guys eh?
Why is Reddit so popular when it's full of creepy subsections?
Why is Reddit so popular when it's full of creepy subsections?
Because it's a great place to wave your figurative and literal cock around on any topic you want. At least on FP the mods have the common sense to quell anything like this. Plus there's a lot of community shaming.
Why is Reddit so popular when it's full of creepy subsections?
Because there are shittons of non-creepy, fun, and useful subreddits? Don't judge a website by a small portion of it's users. It's akin to people judging Facepunch by the OIFY.
Why is Reddit so popular when it's full of creepy subsections?
Due to the way it's structured, it thrives as a selective exposure site. There is only one main reddit. The rest are subreddits you can subscribe or unsubscribe from. If you don't like it, just don't subscribe. The main subreddits are /r/pics, /r/funny, /r/atheism, /r/politics, /r/reddit, /r/IAMA, and /r/videos. Those are the defaults you get, you can unsubscribe from all or none of those, but given those are defaults, those pages will get the normal millions of subscribers by design. The rest is up to the users to share and find on their own. That flexibility is why it's rather popular, you can make your own forum in seconds and develop a community of its own, and since there isn't an easy directory besides people sharing the subreddit, you stay relatively concentrated with fans. They share some moderators and it's run by a user of reddit, but all they share is a sort of symbiotic relationship. Imgur hosts it, Reddit shows it. Both of those cases, it's the users who provide the content.
Banning something in the name of "freedom of speech" seems incredibly hypocritical. It basically signals "we like freedom of speech, until it's a inconvenience" It's like a bad joke that makes people laugh AT you instead of WITH you :v:
Man, even 4chan folded when this kind of shit hit them, and yet they're the public bad guys as opposed to Reddit.
Why is Reddit so popular when it's full of creepy subsections?
It's not, actually, but that's not what people want to hear so please don't tell people i said that.
damn creepshots had some good shit on it now where will i fap to frightened high school cheerleaders struggling to take out their can of mace?
Free speech is all cool and stuff, but these assholes are invading people's personal space and possibly lives. In other words, fuck them and maybe you.
They also don't like getting doxxed, but then they'll happily doxx that young female slab of meat they're all panting over.
Man, even 4chan folded when this kind of shit hit them, and yet they're the public bad guys as opposed to Reddit.
because 4chan works differently. It doesn't have isolated user created boards, but insread a few maintained and broad ones. as opposed to reddit were most stuff is essentially buried and isolated from the rest.
because 4chan works differently. So they removed the Jailbait board, but kept this and http://www.reddit.com/r/beatingwomen http://www.reddit.com/r/RapingWomen http://www.reddit.com/r/Misogyny http://www.reddit.com/r/KillingWomen http://www.reddit.com/r/picsofdeadkids What the fuck is wrong with this site's admins?
except jailbait showed up when you searched reddit it wasn't isolated
eh yes and no. Sure you can search for it, it's not hidden, but it doesn't get direct exposure. Think of it a bit like that. 4chan - a frat commune, relatively visible, interest rooms set up. Reddit - apartment complex where the administration doesn't know or care what's going on in the different flats. Essentially when dealing with a site like reddit you have two options what to do. a) Either create a board approval process and honestly make sure to ban a lot of differnet boards - slows down the sites growth b) make a hands of aproach and only act when shit breaks loose
So they removed the Jailbait board, but kept this and http://www.reddit.com/r/beatingwomen http://www.reddit.com/r/RapingWomen http://www.reddit.com/r/Misogyny http://www.reddit.com/r/KillingWomen http://www.reddit.com/r/picsofdeadkids What the fuck is wrong with this site's admins?
muh freedom of speech

I don't think they understand what freedom of speech is.
I don't think they understand what freedom of speech is.
Apparently the term "in moderation" is lost upon them.

The other half think they are legit subreddits and the cycle continues breeding this kind of thing.
When I go to reddit I only go to the video games section. No where else. [editline]17th October 2012[/editline] Heck I didn't even know the 'creepshots' (or those other weird ones) sub reddits existed. Until it started popping up in the news section.
