I know that in order to record the audio from games with programs like Fraps and Audacity I need to enable and unmute the Stereo mix channel. The problem is that i want to record audio from games and skype while I'm talking through skype , but the people I'm talking with can hear my Stereo mix channel , how do i solve this issue? [editline]1st January 2012[/editline] oh fuck I didn't notice the quick questions thread ,sorry
stereo mix just plays your computer's sound back through an input channel so you can use it in programs that take sound input you don't need to use stereo mix for fraps because it already records the sound of the game [editline]1st January 2012[/editline] and the reason that skype stops working is because when you enable stereo mix it turns that into your primary sound input device

you probably turned off sound recording in fraps
You can set Skype to use your microphone instead of Stereo Mix, you know? [editline]2nd January 2012[/editline] Go to settings, Voice settings, and set Microphone to Microphone. I am using Skype in Estonian language so I do not know how they are translated in Skype in English but I hope those are correct.
