This has been going on for months. I play a game for about 10 minutes, then I get the infamous grey vertical lines crash. I've tried everything, drivers, hotfixes, BIOS's and nothing has worked. Please help me, I'm at my witts end. The card is a Sapphire 5870 vapor-x.
I rarely get it on the 5770, Must be an ATI thing. Yes, I get them too, Mabye it's an ATI thing, because we both have ATI cards. :downs:

10.3 beta. I've tried 10.1 and 10.2 as well.
What are your temps?
I'm on 10.3 beta too, and it has stopped almost all of the crashes. Before I used to get those screens every 5 minutes when playing a game. Now on occasion, I get a blue screen with vertical lines or a complete black screen with the 3 seconds of the last sound that played looping. It has something to do with the drivers, and it is something to get pissed off about. Check out this thread for some help on this really annoying issue with the 5xxx cards. http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=260&threadid=124747 I mean, I spent ~$180 or a piece of hardware (XFX 5770) for it not to be properly supported by it's company and have it crash every time I play Team Fortress 2? Catalyst 10.3 better have a permanent fix or else I'm seriously considering switching to nVidia. /rant

Also, you could try to RMA it.
I rarely get it on the 5770, Must be an ATI thing.
Your card is ATI.
Have you overclocked your card? [editline]05:58PM[/editline]
Your card is ATI.
Informative.
PSU is fine (780w), temps are fine and I haven't overclocked. RMAing it isn't an option.
I have got the stripes few times with my XFX 5770, lowering the clocks a bit made them go away Still overclocked though
PSU is fine (780w), temps are fine and I haven't overclocked. RMAing it isn't an option.
It may be 780W, but that doesn't mean it can handle it. Amps are the important thing here and despite your PSU being high wattage, if it is of a low quality it may be not be supplying the necessary amperage. What brand is your PSU?

Hey guys I got something similar going on with my computer. Ever since I bought my GTS 250 my computer crashes while playing games. IT can happen at the most random of times when playing games. It can play CSS without any problems at all, but when I play more graphically demanding games it just freezes and I gotta restart my computer. I don't know what causes the problem. Im pretty sure its not down to overheating and my PSU is a "Be Quiet" 530W. Thanks in advance EDIT: no worries, it was a driver issue

No.
