• Games Not Stretching to Full Screen Size

I have been having a problem ever since I tried to set up dual monitors, one monitor had a maximum resolution of 1280x1024, the one I am currently using has a resolution of 1650x1050. Before I had attempted to plug in the other monitor older games scaled across the entire screen (the ones with a max of about 1280x1024 ) After I had tried out the setup, didn't like the results I unplugged the old monitor. I didn't notice anything wrong until I tried loading up some of my older games, they only fit across the middle of my screen, a very similar size to the monitor I had just tried to plug in. I have tried resetting the ATI drivers, uninstalling them and reinstalling them, and nothing has changed. Can anybody help me out here? Because it has made playing many of the older steam games very annoying. [editline]10:00PM[/editline] By the way when a game uses my resolution it does fit across the screen. Just an example if anyone wants to know. What games are you trying to play? Most older games weren't made when those higher resolutions were available, so instead on fitting your screen, it displays it in it's maximum resolution, which might be 1280x768 or 800x600. Check google for whatever game you're trying to play though, like "(game) high res": some games have a setting in their configuration files that allow you to set a custom resolution, and you can use that to set the game to your native res.
But they used to stretch :ohdear:
Maybe it's because it detects the other monitor and somehow displays normally, instead of stretching. I'm not sure, I've never owned dual-monitors. Try my suggestion though.
Your suggestion was helpful but not exactly what I wanted, I am pretty sure that it will be hard to find these configs for almost every old game I own.
Your not running those games with 10:9?
How would I go about changing something like that?
