Hello. A few months ago, I had to completely start over on my computer due to a virus. Now i have no Audio. and also my Nvidia GeForce 4 (Old i know, but i could run CS:S atdecent framerates on low settings) doesnt seem to want to work either.Right now my main Priority is getting audio. I am HORRIBLE with computers so if u need the Specs, You're going to have to tell me how to get it all.
When I open my audio properties, I see this:

Device manager says all Audio devices are working properly. Obviously they are not.
Any Ideas?

This should be the driver you're looking for.
The other two are for Creative sound cards, and I don't think you have one.

I've tried all those. Im not sure where i read this or if i remember it properly, but would a USB headset help at all? i think i saw someone say that worked. i just remembered now.
USB headsets have its own intergrated sound processor, it will work fine without the driver for your actual audio card
I know this sounds silly, but are you sure you plugged in you speakers (or other output device) properly? I thought the front ports on my case were broken until I figured out you had to seriously force them in.
Just a thought.

Thank you! if you dont see another thread on this within the next few months it means its working. or im just too lazy to make one.
Open the device manager and check for any yellow "!" symbols on hardware, or "unknown device", which means the drivers aren't installed. The reason that CSS is sucking now is probably because you're using the default windows driver which has no OpenGL or Direct X acceleration.
Hi all,
I am new to the forum and think it's quite happening.
Well, topic "No audio device" brought me here as I have the similar problem recently. I don't know if your problem is solved or not, so I would like to suggest a site where I had found a solution : www.noaudiooutput.com . Visit this site as there are many solutions available depending on various causes so you might find one there.
