So all the Mount and Blade games are on sale on Steam right now but i dont know what one to get. Which one has the most custom content, mods and players and stuff like that?
Warband.
ALL OF THEM
Warband + F&S. Warband is basically originally M&B with extra stuff so if you have Warband you don't need it. [editline]17th September 2011[/editline] Specifically though, Warband is the most popular though I really enjoy F&S as well.
I'd get Warband. I've played a bit of Fire and Sword and I didn't like how they implemented guns in to a melee oriented game. The game truly shines in melee combat

Learn to zig zag and you kill musketeers instantly since none of them have any clue how to block.
I just bought the complete pack. Its only 12 bucks so fuck it :v:
If you can only get one, Warband. Fire and Sword is a bit (read: a lot) shit, and is basically just a mod for Warband. Seriously, you'll find mods that add more than F&S does.
nah
Yes it is. It feels like a tacky ripoff of Warband, and guns are gay.
Lol, "Guns are gay."
Ok, it feels more like luck than skill actually using them, reloading takes half a goddamn hour and instantly dropping one guy has no effect on big armies.
So don't use them. [editline]17th September 2011[/editline] I thought you were complaining about people using them against you. What's the problem with an extra facet of the game being in there when you can choose not to use it?
It still just feels like a tacky ripoff of Warband.
Warband. Warband is a straight upgrade from the original Mount & Blade, it's kinda silly that they're sold separately.
Warband. Warband is a straight upgrade from the original Mount & Blade, it's kinda silly that they're sold separately.
It's an expansion. Sold separately.
It's weird that it's a standalone expansion though that includes the entire original.
Do not ever get the first M&B. Warband and F&S are both really fun imo. Warband is more swords & (cross)bow while F&S is more swords & muskets/pistols. I found F&S really hard to get in to, but once you do it's really fun, even more fun than Warband. But it was very glitchy for me, the main quest bugged and I could not continue which made me ragequit. Also it's a LOT more frustrating, since in the beginning people will shoot you down in 2 shots. And later, when you have awesome weapons and armour, you shouldn't ever lose, because when you do, they will take all those expensive stuff, which is also super frustrating. Warband on the other hand I found a lot easier, fights like you vs 3 other are usually easier since there aren't any musketeers that will shoot you down in a few hits. But after a while, the game got me to a point where I went "so... what do I do now", which is less likely to happen in F&S
Warband with c-rpg.net
Warband with c-rpg.net
This for sure. c-rpg is a mod for Warband multiplayer that allows you to create an persistent online character whose stats you can increase and whom you can purchase permanent gear for like in the single player. It's all I ever play anymore when I play Warband.
the first M&B has some legendary singleplayer mods that would make me pick it over the others, but Warband is way more polished and has the best multiplayer/vanilla singleplay. I play WFaS just to pwn musketeers with my zig zag two-handed sword because like johnny said NOBODY knows how to block in that game. WFaS is kind of what you make of it. Expect to get raped alot starting out in Warband's multiplayer. The combat is extremely robust.
Especially if you play crpg. Players like Balbaroth and Cyranule and SaulCanner (on NA servers anyway) are god's punishment for a sinful world and the first time you have to fight one of them you will cry.
