I know it's not at all related, but "Robot made ethical decision to run over toddler and spare running into 3 other people nearby" was the first thing I thought of. This is nonetheless, probably a result that it doesn't have sensors that low to the ground...
At least the kid's okay.
Its quite horrible what happened but i just can't get the image out of my head of that tall, goofy robot knocking a kid down and running it over
Those things move very slow though, so the mother would've had ample time to snag the kid before it kept patrolling.
The robot revolution has begun.
