It would be more funny if we even had the plot to the game.
I was about to say, isn't the game still in Early Access?
Still, it's at least got an interesting premise that MIGHT make for a decent movie.
I feel like We Happy Few is the sort of concept that might make a better movie than game

Especially when they're going the "early access procedurally generated survival game" route that instantly makes its storytelling job a shitton more difficult.
Actually, this would make a really great movie.
See the problem with We Happy Few was never the concept, the concept is rock solid
It's just the fact that it's a open world randomly generated survival game that makes it so lackluster. Almost any genre I can think of would have made the game ten times better off.
Personally I would have either made it a pure FPS like Bioshock, or made it an adventure game or RPG.

That's the sad thing. The opening of the game sets a great scene and looks like it could lead to an interesting story, then you climb out of a sewer drain and it turns into a procedurally generated survival game. Gave me a serious case of blue balls.
If they get good writers this could make a great movie. It just feels like the creator of the game had a great idea for a story but just couldn't come up with enough content to make a story driven game and just made another survival game instead, because there certainly aren't enough of those nowadays. One could argue "it's survival horror, that's not as common", but there's still over 300 of those on steam so my point still stands.
