Clever news headline title. The helmet/flamethrower is cool but holy crap that xenomorph skin is gonna wreck the Scout's silhouette.
That Scout.
Wow.
Nice game, Valve.
"What's that thing with the frighteningly shaped, alien-esque head? Could it be the scout, the only class that has a frighteningly shaped, alien-esque head skin? Nah."
So alien scout outfit, perfectly acceptable to be worn year-round, this?

NAAAAAAH, WAAAY TOO OUTLANDISH
Why would you do this and not make a facehugger hat that's just silly

At least the rest of the items are in the art style. I mean it's not like they'd restrict space suits.
remember when valve said that the only items that would make it into TF2 would be ones that didn't contrast with the art style of the game?
i mean i guess you could argue that the items are stylised but at the same time its a fucking xenomorph suit
So this is what it's come to, huh.
I bet the weapons will just be reskins too. I remember when promos were an excuse to throw in a new weapon or two without the need for a big fat major update.
Seven years and TF2 players still confuse "Art Style" with "Theme".

I get the concern for a bloody Xenomorph suit, I really do, but they've already been doing this ages by now.
Infact, people keep pointing out the same thing almost every single time it happens.
Wow, that fucking scout. I guess valve just stopped caring.

There are plenty of hats in the game that fit neither.

I genuinely never looked for the outline of characters, I went for the noise of the weapon they fired. That's how I determined who was what and what I would be fighting. Outlines just make it easier to identify them. And the scout will be radically different that hell you would still identify it as a scout.
-snipe didn't read the patch notes-
I already didn't have high hopes for this next Aliens game, but pandering to the TF2 community in order to boost sales? Shameful.
Alien scout outfit is halloween/full-moon only, and there's a very strange thing where the helmet/flamethrower are a set that has the flamethrower do more damage against the scout set while taking more melee damage from the scout set

Pretty much every major release has some sort of TF2 tie ins, why are you surprised exactly?
Even then, I feel like that's SEGA's pull more than anything since all of Sega's releases seem to have TF2 Tie-Ins.

Let's not beat around the bush, it's pretty much common knowledge Valve gave-up along the line. The very first sets of cosmetics were extremely in-line with the rest of the game and pretty much the most non-offensive things ever. And then other hats showed up.

Not that silhouettes ever did much for me, I find the animations/speed to be much more telling. I just kinda wish that Team Fortress 2 didn't move from it's quaint little origin to Neon Color Absurd Vanity Simulator.
[sp]I still enjoy the base game. I just wish there was a "no cosmetic" video setting option or something, y'know?[/sp]

Just use the one from Alien Swarm
I already wanted to pre-order the game before, but now I really want to.
If I go the GreenManGaming route to save some money, will I still get the TF2 items and stuff?

Very customizable too.

Because it basically already exists?

Because the "Awper Hand" totally is either.

Halloween/Full Moon only, thankfully.
Some of you whiners are fucking stupid.

Thanks, this is actually really nice. It'll probably be the first thing I install if I hop back to it.

Excellent insight. Thanks for sharing it with us.
You guys act like servers are infested with lime beards and Dr. Seuss hats.
I'd like to know where you're going, because even with random server hopping, I always run into a Special Neonflake or a Whale who spent untold time/money to get an extremely gaudy set of some kind.
Don't understand what everyone is complaining about. The Xenomorph set for the Scout is Halloween-only. And people complaining about the theme/artstyle are really late to the party because it's been like this for years.
You guys act like servers are infested with lime beards and Dr. Seuss hats.
I like the Xenoscout, personally.
I won't be buying Alien: Isolation because there's no way in a billion gagillion fafillion shabadabalo shabadamillion shabaling shabalomillion years I could run it, but I want that Xenoscout skin.
