So I have these headphones, right. No idea what brand. All I know is it says "SR-170" on the sides and that they were pretty cheap.
Recently (yesterday) I went to cook some dinner up, and when I went back to my computer I turned on some music. To my horror, something had happened to my headphones. Not physically, but the sound. Basically the sound *kinda* works. But it's like someone shut off one channel on the sound, so it's only playing one channel on both sides, so not just one side giving up, both earpieces still work - it's just kinda shutting out one channel of the audio. It's hard to explain, but that's the best I can.
After some playing around I got the sound to work okay if I just had them semi-plugged in. Basically they're plugged in, but not clicked in place. So the wire could easily fall out. The sound works, both channels, but there's a slight treble now. It's better than nothing, though.
So what could this be? I'd assume it's a broken wire, but like I said before, I can still get the sound to work okay, if only for the slight treble. So I'm not sure. I haven't been too hard on the headphones, and what confuses me is that they would break literally out of nowhere. I was just gone for 30 minutes and when I got back they were like this.

Why on Earth does the OS/Browser detector display XP/Internet Explorer
Most likely the wire has broken, a very common issue
I got $10 on a broken connector.
Try it on another source. If the problem persists its a broken wire, which is easily fixed if you have a soldering iron.
