I like how people can think they can just make an aRTS/MOBA thingy by simply thinking "Well, Dota and LoL are popular for X, Y and Z reasons so we got this shit!" without looking real deep as to why Dota has done so well and lasted for so long or why LoL is as popular as it is. They don't understand that Dota has years upon years of history, loyalty and balance under its belt making it possibly the most competitively balanced game of all time, or the fact that LoL had an understanding of what made Dota good and then made it easy and then added an MMO like grind to keep its players fueled. This game is going to go nowhere. This is going to be World of Warcraft all over in the idea that companies are going to be making one of these to try to "beat" Dota or LoL without any fundamental understanding as to what made the games good.
What? You mean a copy of a successful game won't magically sell more than it?
The sad thing is this game with gain a small, yet fervent fanbase that will play it compulsively and defend it tooth and nail.
This is like first-person shooters all over again, except with something far less simple.
Unlock new champs with real money, calling it now.
i think the only way i'd ever be interested in a MOBA is if a bunch of publishers/developers pooled their resources and made a big crossover game, smash bros style but with more diverse characters
Unlock new champs with real money, calling it now.
That seems to be a basic, and shitty staple of new MOBAs.
