Didn't see a thread like this within the last few pages, so I thought I'd make one. I dont have the exact profile, but I remember having a close friend back in roblox that we made our names based off of each other. His was solar543 and mine was solar534. He stopped playing for a few weeks, and his brother logged on after going around on his computer and told me that he died in a car crash. Sad to think he was only 11 at the time. Really wish I knew what he'd be like nowadays.

I had a really good friend on steam who died of a heart attack while sleeping after fighting a degenerative heart disease since birth. Met her through another steam friend, when she was playing TF 2 or some other game on this friends steam account. Eventually I added her own steam account and we began talking pretty frequently. What always stroke me was the fact that she was always pretty upbeat. Even when talking about her disease she'd crack jokes and not be depressed about it. Pretty inspiring now that I think about it. Nothing can bring you down if you don't let it bring you down. She was also a huge fan of Starbound back when it was pretty early in development, big enough that some of her friends began a charity thing to have a statue of her placed in the game. IIRC the devs put the statue in the game for free and gave all her friends copies of Starbound, including to myself. Hope she's in a better place.
I remember a guy who was a large part of a (now-dead) forum called UndeadGames, centered around the Land of the Dead game that came out years back. It was easily one of the best communities online, making a shit game insanely fun, and this guy was there from the get-go, played online and talked through the forums for about a decade almost everyday. The forum began to slow down last year, and then he posted that he found out he had about 4 months to live and was going to spend his time knocking things off his bucket list; he wished us well, thanked us for the great memories and that was it, gone, never heard from him again. The forum shut down shortly after. I communicated with him for over a decade and I can't even remember his username anymore.

Margen67 It's just not the same without his ratings.
Margen67 It's just not the same without his ratings.
Comforting thought.
Not a user, but related. It's a greentext, so take it with a grain of salt. It still gets me pretty sad, though.
There's a member of the forum DakkaDakka who died recently, MWHistorian. He died suddenly in his sleep a few days ago. His twin brother shared the information.
Margen67 It's just not the same without his ratings.
Wait he died? Because he kept liking my junk on twitter, and somehow stopped
Wait he died? Because he kept liking my junk on twitter, and somehow stopped
His profile has someone posting a chat log about how his parents found out what he did online and made him stop or something.
Biotic Used to play/talk about Starcraft 2 with him, but then we had a falling out. Then a few weeks/months later I was told he died from an asthma attack June 30, 2012. Now he has an open memorial page on facebook, which his family members use quite frequently

Do you have a link you could PM me? I grew up living in the same town as him, but was never able to track down any real info. We were a couple years apart from graduating high school the same year, if I remember right.. I was away camping for a week when it happened. Crazy. Came here just to post about him. Played a lot of SCII back when a bunch of the FP people used to play with us.
Sorry for asking but can you post a picture of this statue?
After looking around, I haven't actually found anything like that. After she died I sorta went away from the whole memorial page she had and all that, only to be surprised one day by a gift copy of Starbound, given to me by the friend that organized the whole memorial, explaining to me what happened in the end. I did check the memorial page and it does say that all the money donated was used to buy Starbound copies, as the devs decided to do it for free. Gonna ask him about the statue thing when I'll speak with him next time. Sorry for not having an actual photo now.
It's one of my big fears. Dying and only being remembered by my last shitpost on FP.
It's one of my big fears. Dying and only being remembered by my last shitpost on FP.
Then we have to live every day like it's our last. Make sure every shitpost is lined with a little gold
can i have ur roblox account
There's a website that shows you a list of deceased people's twitter accounts. Not a comprehensive list.
Didn't this guy allegedly go blind? Deserves a mention if you ask me, going blind is one of my worst fears.
It's one of my big fears. Dying and only being remembered by my last shitpost on FP.
I'd honestly take that over dying unknown or unremembered. I'd rather be remembered by some dumb or one-off thought left on a forum than the nebulous "huh, they haven't posted since 2016, must have moved on" or a "he hasn't logged on steam in a while"
